The Alpha felt a presence in the room and jolted up. Since it was dark, he couldn’t see Prince Kane’s face but the small light that was coming out through the window made it easy for Prince Kane to watch his father’s expression. 

He watched how his face twitched from surprise to anger as he sat up on the bed. 

“Who are you! Why are you hiding in the dark? Show your face and don’t be a coward,” he hissed and Prince Kane only looked at his father in disappointment. 

His father can’t even recognise him in the dark. He was certain he would be able to identify Lucas’s shadow but since he was supposed to be a mistake, his father couldn’t even identify him

She opened her eyes gently, trying to adjust to the light that was coming out from the window before she started screaming upon seeing Prince Kane. 

“Help!!” she yelled 

“Who are you? What do you want from us? How do you get past the security?” Luna asks as she trembles lightly and the Alpha places his hands on her palm, trying to calm her down, even though both of them are glaring at him. 

“Why won’t you show your face? Stop hiding in the dark and show your face,” The Alpha said with gritted teeth and Prince merely watched them in 

disbelief. 

Just then, Lord Williams rushed inside to stop them from screaming before anyone else could walk inside to see the scene. 

He looked at Prince Kane who was still standing by the door then back to his stepmother who was trembling on the bed 

Without another word, he charged at the Alpha and he tried to protect his wife by pushing her behind him as he fought with Lord Willimas. 

He was just as strong as they had expected, but Lord Williams was just as good, if not better. They fought with their fangs and claws as they kept attacking each other at their weak point. 

Prince Kane watched the scene with a bored expression and the thought of taking his stepmother crossed his mind so that it would be a game over, but he didn’t 

He wanted to take her to watch how her husband fell from grace and he didn’t miss the horror in her face as she watched the fight

Lord Williams was quick enough to slap his hands away and the Luna kept on screening for help. 

Just then, Lord Willains punched the Alpha in the face, making him fall on his face and he knew that he had been defeated. 

“Who are you and what do you want?” He asked with a pained expression and just then, Prince Kane turried on the light, revealing his face to his

“Kane?” His father called out his name with disappointment lared in his voice and Prince Kane chuckled. 

Chapter 56 

“Yes, it’s me, father. Are you surprised?” He asked with a smirk. 

“What the hell are you doing? Why would you have someone point threaten your father’s lifer What kind of a son are you? His eyes flashed with hurt as he spoke and all Prince Kane could do was laugh at him. 

“Wow! I’m impressed. I mean, how did I suddenly become your sont Ain’t I supposed to be your bigger mistake?” He rolled his eyes and his father clenched his fist,

“When are you not ever disappointed! This is going to be your last night anyway so you can say whatever word you have left in mind to make feel bad, he chuckles, obviously not affected by his father’s words. 

His father could tell that he wasn’t there to joke and he had always known that Prince Kane would end up on the wrong path. That was one of the reasons why he never really treated him well anyway, so he decided to take a different approach. 

“What do you want? You can’t be threatening the lives of your family without a reason. Tell me, what is it? I am willing to give you whatever you want. You don’t have to do this the hard way, the Alpha said. 

“Unfortunately, I don’t need anything from you. When I needed you to look at me for a split second and show that you cared, you were never there. So why would I need you to do anything for me now that I am in power?” He chuckled. 

“I’m sorry for making you feel the way you did, I promise you, I didn’t have a favourite among you and Lucas. I love you equally and 1 punish accordingly too. If you think I was being too harsh, it is because I wanted to prepare you for the future when I’m no longer around, he tried to sweet talk him, but it wasn’t working. 

“Aw, I know, right? I must have been hard to pick your favourite son and even rub it on my face,” he said with his voice laced with

While Prince Kane was talking to his father, the Luna secretly gathered a weapon to light them, thinking Prince Kane and Lord Williams were pot aware of what she was up to. 

The Luna tried to stab them without their knowledge, but Lord Williams’s reflect was fast and he ended up twisting her hands to make the knife fall to the ground

“You fucking ingrate! If you lay a finger on my son I will never spare you, I should have allowed you to rot in the street in the first place. How dare you threaten our lives?!” “The Luna yelled. 

“You never accepted me as your son anyway, so why are you so bothered?” He rolled his eyes and the Alpha scoffed I’m disbelief. 

I can’t believe this is how you intend to repay us for our kindness!” The Luna yelled. 

“What kindness? All you ever did was yell at me and punish me at the slightest opportunity you ever got. If you think I’ll let you off this hook, then you are mistaken,” he hissed 

“All of this is for what purpose? The Alpha finally spoke and Prince Kane chuckled. “You can’t be doing all of this for money or power, are you? I am willing to give you anything you want. You don’t have to do this the hard way the Alpha tried to patronize him. 

“You do not have what to offer me, father. I am going to become the Alpha of this pack and 1 don’t need your help to become one.” he stated firmly. taking both of them by surprise.
