Chapter 395

Joanna was resting at home when she suddenly received a text.

Jeremy: “Ms. Lowell, Mr. Greer is still looking into you.”

Joanna’s anger flared up as she clutched her phone tightly. Even now, Winston still didn’t trust her!

Fueled by rage, she abruptly stood up and stared out the villa, frowning in frustration.

Suddenly, Joanna saw the fruit knife resting on the coffee table from the corner of her eye. Her right hand balled into a fist, and she stormed toward it.

Moments later, frantic shouts echoed through the Lowell Manor. “Help! Ms. Lowell has slashed her wrists!”

“Mr. Lowell, Mrs. Lowell, Ms. Lowell has attempted suicide!”

It wasn’t long before news of Joanna’s suicide attempt spread like wildfire throughout Yerwick City.

Winston was in the middle of a meeting at his office when he received a call. His heart sank upon learning about the situation.

Right then, Eli rushed in and reported, “Mr. Greer, something has happened to Ms. Lowell.”

Winston’s gaze swept over the people in the conference room, his eyes darkening with exhaustion. He was utterly drained.

“This proposal isn’t acceptable. Scrap it and redo everything.”

He added, “Keep the goods at Crystal Bay on hold. No one is allowed to release them!”

He then told Eli, “You’ll handle the international meeting later. I’m heading to the hospital.”

After saying that, Winston grabbed his suit jacket from the chair, while Eli followed him to the door.

When he met Winston’s gaze, he said seriously, “Mr. Greer, I’ve checked. Ms. Lowell has a medical record, but Ms. Caldwell doesn’t.”

Winston’s expression turned inscrutable. He patted Eli’s shoulder and quickly left for the hospital.

When Winston arrived at the hospital, Joanna was nowhere to be found. The nurses and doctors were -in a frenzy.

“Where did Ms. Lowell go?”

“Did anyone check the rooftop?”

“We did, but she’s not there!”

Winston hurriedly grabbed a nurse by the arm and demanded, “Where’s Joanna?”

“Mr. Greer, we have no idea. Ms. Lowell… She suddenly disappeared!”

Logan rushed over from a distance. As soon as he saw Winston, he grabbed him by the collar and spat, “Winston Greer, I won’t let you off the hook if anything happens to my sister!”

Winston shoved Logan aside before calling Joanna His cold gaze swept over Logan. How could he be making threats now, of all times?

Harriet and Ethan returned after searching everywhere. At that moment, Harriet was sobbing uncontrollably. “Has Jo gone mad? First, she harmed herself, and now, she’s gone missing. What did I do to deserve this? Why must my daughters suffer?”

She had lost one daughter, while the other, whom they had painstakingly raised, was causing chaos.

Just as everyone was panicking, Millie suddenly appeared from the hallway and said, “She’s on the rooftop.”

Everyone turned to look at her, confused. They had already searched the rooftop, but Joanna wasn’t

there.

In the next instant, the group hurried toward the rooftop. Millie was initially leading the way. However, Winston quickly overtook her. She watched his retreating figure, a hint of resignation flickering in her

eyes.

The rooftop door swung open, and sure enough, Joanna was standing precariously at the edge. As Millie stared at her, she couldn’t help but recall Cara, the abused woman who had once stood there

too.

Millie didn’t step forward. Instead, she remained at the back. She watched as Winston and the Lowells moved closer to Joanna.

Yet, Joanna shouted for them to stay away. Everyone immediately stopped in their tracks, worry etched across their faces.

“We won’t come any closer,” they told her.

Winston fixed his eyes on Joanna. A myriad of emotions flashed across his face as he pursed his lips and uttered in a low voice, “Joanna, don’t move. It’s dangerous.”

Joanna, standing at the edge, looked at Winston. Tears streamed down her face uncontrollably, and she asked, “Do you care about me?”

Her eyes were bloodshot, and the wind made her fragile frame wobble.

Millie watched in silence. Then, she heard Winston softly replied, “Yes.”

His voice was barely audible.

“Jo, please come down. We can talk here. You’re breaking my heart!” Harriet pleaded, her voice trembling and her body shaking.
