Chapter 357

Millie’s phone suddenly chimed with a notification.

The news stated that a homeless man found Harriet, who had been kidnapped, in an abandoned building this morning. Harriet wasn’t doing well and was taken home.

Millie pondered upon reading the news. She sneered and questioned why a homeless man would visit an abandoned building in such an isolated area. She immediately

connected it to Winston.

Millie went to the blocked numbers on her phone to delete Winston’s number, but she changed her mind. She realized that Winston would be with Joanna in the future, and Harriet was his mother–in– law. It wouldn’t be right for him to let Harriet suffer.

Fortunately, he didn’t release Harriet the night before. She was certain that if he did, he would be the next one to be tied up there.

Millie had just arrived back to the ward when her phone rang with a call from Logan. Despite knowing exactly what he was going to say, Millie decided to answer the call.

She put the call on speaker mode and placed the phone on the bedside table. Then, she started reading her book.

Logan shouted, “Millie, you’re going too far. My mom is an elderly. How could you tie her to a chair and hang her up? If something had happened to her last night, could you handle the consequences?”

Upon hearing this, Millie calmly responded, “Is she always right just because she’s older? Does she get to live her life while I don’t get to live mine?”

“What do you mean?” Logan was furious.

“It seems like your mother failed to mention that she hired someone to kidnap me the night before.” She glanced at her phone.

As expected, there was silence on the other end of the line. Logan was stunned, unable to believe that Harriet hired someone to kidnap Millie and even hurt Winston.

Millie scoffed and said mockingly, “Mr. Lowell, I used to think you were the smartest one among the Lowells. But now it seems I was wrong. I’m worried about what will happen to Lowell Group if you take over.”

Logan was furious upon hearing her words. However, he was indeed negligent in this issue. He never imagined that it was actually Harriet who abducted Millie first.

“Millie, even though my mom was wrong, it wouldn’t be right for you to seek revenge on her in the same way.” Logan’s tone softened slightly.

Millie snorted, her eyes narrowed with a dangerous glint. “And what if I don’t? Shall I ask her to take a seat while I offer her my deepest respect? Mr. Lowell, I strongly advise you to control your mother and sister. You have no idea how far I can go.”

She would become extremely crazy when she lost control.

There was silence on the other end of the phone. After a considerable pause, he replied calmly, “Millie, the Lowell family is responsible for what happened. I’ll make sure to apologize to you later.”

With that, Logan ended the call.

Millie scoffed and closed the book in her hand. At that moment, the door of her ward was opened. It was Marvin.

With a smile, he propped his face up with his hands and said, “Boss, we’ve got a lead on the Aspher.”

He continued seriously, “Rumors are circulating that Aspher will be auctioned at an overseas auction tomorrow at 8:00 pm.”

Millie was taken aback when she heard about the auction. “Isn’t it owned by a businessman?”

Marvin confirmed. “Indeed. This businessman gave out Aspher to secure the collaboration with another party.”

Millie was disgusted by the businessmen of today. They were willing to sacrifice anything for the sake of business, even giving away valuable medicinal materials like Aspher without hesitation. This showed that the businessman was extremely wealthy.

“We have to get it,” she replied with a stern expression.

“Okay, I’ll get it,” Marvin said.

“I’m going too!” Millie exclaimed as she hit him on the head with the magazine.
