Chapter 38
Chapter 38
Five
I want nothing more than to have sex with both of the twins, but something churns within me when Eric and Logan touch me inside the shower. It feels a lot like there are bubbles in my veins, and I recognize it as only one thing–magic. My skin reeks of it. Could it be that I’m awakening special powers?
After half a life of being a weak Omega, I want nothing more than to be special. The only problem is that I don’t want to discover new powers NOW, not while I’m on vacation. What if it’s a strange power? The last thing I need is to learn that I’m glowing in the night, or worse that my superpower is to remove my clothes when I sneeze, Ugh, knowing my bad luck, my magic might be something like that.
–
“Guys,” I meet the eyes of Logan first and then Eric. They are both peering down at me with tentative smiles.
“Yes?” Logan squeezes my shoulder. “Are you okay?”
Eric reacts to the “okay” part and gives me a serious look that says he would burn cities for my sake. His eyes are very serious when he asks, “You need anything?”
I’m flattered that my mates care so much about me.
“While I would love to continue this some other time, I think we need to stop.”
Instead of looking disappointed, both brothers look even more worried. Logan pulls me to him in a hug, looking me over like a parent checking on their child. “Are you hurt?”
Eric runs his fingers through my hair. “If you don’t want sex, then something is really wrong.”
I snort. “Hey, what’s that supposed to mean?!”
He grins. “That you’re usually a pervert.”
I blush but don’t say anything – he is right. I am a pervert, and so I just frown. “I feel weird like I’m suddenly developing special powers. I know it must sound crazy, but something that feels a lot like bubbles is coursing through my veins, and it feels and smells a lot like magic – at least that’s what my werewolf instincts are telling
me.”

Logan’s eyebrows furrow. “Magic? Are you sure it’s not just something in the water?”
Eric shakes his head. “No, I felt it too. It’s got to be something else. Something more… primal.”
I can’t help but feel a sense of fear and excitement. What if I really do have special powers? What if I’m not just a weak werewolf anymore? My mates are both Alphas, and I’m their Luna – now it seems like I might really live up to the name if I’m developing special powers. It would be amazing seeing a lot of the women in the pack who don’t respect me. Probably because they want my mates for themselves.
“Let’s get out of here,” Eric says, grabbing a towel and wrapping it around his hips. “We will figure this out together.”
Logan nods in agreement and grabs another towel for me. “Yeah, we will help you through this.”
As we leave the shower, I’m stuck thinking about the possibilities. What kind of powers could I have? Would they be useful? Or would they be something strange and uncontrollable? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure- I’m super–duper excited to figure out what they are.
“Do you want to go out and eat somewhere?” Eric asks.
“Or maybe go for a hunt in the forest?” Logan suggests. “We could shape–shift while on our trip, you know.”
“That…actually sounds nice.”
We begin packing our things. Eric makes a few phone calls to get us set up with a rental car while Logan is helping me decide on what to dress. We are on a tropical island, and I want to show off my assets. My breasts might be small, but I’m still thin and in great shape – the guys will notice that, right?
I settle on putting on a black bikini – nothing too revealing, but it would be enough to get Logan going.
We finally set out for the forest, Logan and Eric flirting with me the entire time. The drive is long but pleasant as we talk about random things like what kind of powers I might have and our plans for the future. When we finally reach the forest, I am amazed by the beauty of it all–towering trees, lush greenery, wild animals- it’s like a paradise on earth.
We find a clearing not far from where we parked to set up our picnic. We lay down some blankets and unpack our food – sandwiches, chips, juice boxes, and some fresh fruit that Logan found on his way here. We munch away while enjoying each other’s company in the serene woodland setting – surrounded by nature’s bounty and beauty.

As if on cue, birds start singing their melodic tunes as if welcoming us into their domain. A butterfly flutters around us before settling onto Logan’s pocket while a squirrel chirps from one of the trees nearby. All around us. is calmness and tranquility, as if this place has been touched by magic itself.
After lunch, Eric peers at me with excited eyes. “I’ve never shape–shifted since I became a hybrid. Do you think my wolf form is going to look weird?”
I snort. “With like bat ears, or wings, or something?”
“Y–yeah…” Eric looks a bit uncomfortable. “God, I hope I don’t have an ugly nose.”
Logan snickers. “It would only be fair if your wolf form is uglier than mine nowadays. Seeing your skin is fucking perfect. You honestly look like you could be a skincare influencer–I bet a company would love to hire you to promote their product.”
Eric laughs. “Shut up!”
The brothers laugh and smile at each other, which makes me feel at ease. I’m glad they aren’t fighting anymore. I don’t know what happened when I entered the shower, but they seem to be back to normal.
Logan taps my shoulder. “C’mon, let’s shape–shift!”
I beam at him. “With pleasure.”
Logan and I both shape–shift into our wolf forms. He is a bit bigger than me, and I have to dig my claws into the dirt not to topple over when he rubs his head against mine in a show of affection. Eric watches us with insecure eyes, and I tilt my head as if to ask what’s the matter.
“I’m nervous,” he says, biting his lip. “I haven’t shape–shifted since I FULLY awakened. And now that I am, I’m scared of what my wolf is going to look like.”
Logan and I roll our eyes at him to tell him he is being silly, and Eric pouts at us.
“Stop it,” he huffs. “I’m nervous.”
Both Logan and I snicker at him, and Eric sticks his tongue out at us. Then he closes his eyes and inhales deeply.
“Okay, I’m ready.” He says, clenching his fists.

He looks at his fingernails and sees that they have turned into claws. I snicker, and he shoots me a glare.
“Shut up!” he huffs. “I’m trying, okay? It’s not my fault I’m so nervous that only my nails are changing.”
Logan and I howl at him, and Eric closes his eyes, focusing for real this time.
Suddenly, the air around us starts to ripple and shimmer. The ground shakes, and a gust of air blows in from all directions. Then, as if by magic, Eric is transformed into a fuzzy black wolf with leather–clad wings. He looks at us with his eyes, obviously insecure since he isn’t a normal wolf.
‘Do I look weird?‘ he asks through telepathy.
I give him a wolfish smile. ‘No, you look perfect.’
He walks towards me, brushing his tail over my nose when he passes, and I sneeze. When I do, snowflakes circle down from the sky. I pause when I see it, and so do Logan and Eric. Their eyes are wide, and I gasp. Did I turn into freaking Elsa from Frozen?!
