After lunch, Meryl found her medical acupuncture kit and prepared to head to Felix's room again.

She had asked the doctor earlier and was assured that, despite her condition, it was safe for her to get up and move around a little.

Griselda, seeing Meryl about to leave the room, hurried to stop her. "Mrs. Aniston, you just had a baby. Your body is still weak. It was a C-section... You have stitches. Moving around isn't a good idea." Meryl knew all of this. But Felix was gravely injured, and she couldn't stand by.

Meryl met Malcolm's gaze. "And I'm wondering, who paid him off? Why does someone keep trying to kill me?"

Malcolm heard the accusation in her tone.

His face darkened. "Rocky's always been a criminal. Maybe he's holding a grudge because you and Chandler sent him to prison. He must have wanted revenge. That's all there is to it. This has nothing to do with Lydia! She's pregnant and on bed rest. How could she possibly be conspiring with Rocky?"
