Chapter 1614
At that moment, Tyrone began to wonder if Jennie even knew what it meant to be pregnant.
Jennie looked at Tyrone with a serious expression and announced, "Sabrina's going to have a baby!"
"How can you be so sure?" Tyrone leaned down to meet Jennie's gaze, a mix of hope and anticipation fluttering in his chest.
Jennie replied, "The day Sergio got married, Sabrina came to pick me up from kindergarten and mentioned that. You hadn't come home that night. The next day, she packed up her things and left without telling you."
Hearing this, Tyrone's heart soared. Sabrina was pregnant! They were going to have a baby! It was their own child. This news took him by surprise, filling him with an unexpected joy.
Tyrone got up, ready to knock on the door of Sabrina's apartment, but Jennie stopped him. "Calm down. It's not going to help. She won't come back just like that."
Tyrone paused and faced her, puzzled. "What do you mean?"
"Kira and that strange woman won't let you two be together. If you try to bring Sabrina back now, they'll just make her life miserable. It's not good for her or the baby. If you really want Sabrina back, you need to make them leave first, Jennie explained with clarity.
Keilani's lingering only added to the situation, stirring up problems between Tyrone and Sabrina.
Hearing Jennie's words, Tyrone realized his excitement had clouded his judgment. Getting pregnant wasn't easy for Sabrina, and she needed to take good care of herself. Losing this baby would devastate her. Now, it seemed like a wise decision for Sabrina to stay put
Tyrone planned to sort everything out quickly and bring Sabrina back.
Tyrone gently patted Jennie on the head and then scooped her up. "You're absolutely right. You're such a clever girl. But let's keep the news of Sabrina's pregnancy just between us, okay?"
"Okay."
"Did Keilani ask you to call me for lunch today?"
"Yeah, she wanted me to ask you out to dine together."
"Next time, don't turn her down, okay?" Tyrone advised.
Jennie's eyes went wide. "Wait. Are you planning to seduce her?
"Stop talking silly." Tyrone knew convincing Keilani, Royce's niece, to leave would be a challenging task. Before his plans succeeded, he had to ensure Keilani wouldn't harm Sabrina.
Tyrone knew Keilani might believe what she had done paid off if his demeanor toward her softened slightly. That way, Keilani would focus on winning him and Jennie over, leaving Sabrina in peace.
To keep Sabrina safe, Tyrone hired two bodyguards for her commute to work.
Bettie got an invite from a female celebrity's team for a business trip to Centenia, taking charge of the celebrity's makeup needs.
The agenda included photo shoots for fashion magazines and participating in a brand's anniversary celebration.
During the anniversary celebration, the brand's manager would deliver a speech about the company's journey and its future, introduce new products, and then host a special performance featuring a select group of celebrities.
Before the celebration kicked off, Bettie, along with her assistant, had already arrived at the dressing room. The room was shared by several celebrities, with two makeup artists arriving early to set up their equipment. Being familiar faces in the industry, Bettie engaged in light conversation while organizing her makeup tools. When the celebrity arrived, Bettie applied the makeup, and afterward, the celebrity left to prepare for her performance.
Bettie and her assistant then snuck off to the back of the hall to catch the show from the rear seats, where it was less crowded.
As the show unfolded, capturing Bettie's full attention, she suddenly noticed someone taking a seat next to her. She caught a whiff of a subtle scent and, from the corner of her eye, saw a man in a crisp suit sitting beside her, notable for his height.
However, Bettie couldn't see his face clearly. Curiosity got the better of her, and she stole a glance at her new neighbor, only to avert her gaze immediately afterward.
Bettie felt a bit of bad luck. Had she known it earlier, she might have chosen not to look his way at all.
"What's that look on your face?" Lance raised his eyebrows.
"You're really getting on my nerves," Bettie shot back.
At their conversation, Bettie's assistant turned to look at Lance. It seemed every time Bettie was around, Lance would show up. Lance never did much besides bicker with Bettie. It seemed Bettle was used to it.
Lance revealed, "Your father asked me to come here."
Bettie was taken aback. She scoffed. "Why don't you just call him dad since you do as he said like a lost puppy?
"I might not call him dad, but I'm open to him being my father-in-law, Lance replied with a serious tone.
"Fuck off!" Bettie snapped. "Stop spouting nonsense. Go find your girlfriend."
All of a sudden, the news of Tyrone's child with Keilani reaching five crossed Bettie's mind, rendering her wondering about Lance's knowledge about this. Still wrongly assuming Keilani was Lance's girlfriend, Bettie found amusement in Lance being cuckolded.
Bettie failed to stifle her chuckle.
"I don't have a girlfriend. Why are you laughing?" Lance raised his eyebrow.
"Nothing at all." Bettie tried to contain her laughter, but her eyes crinkled, showing efforts to fight the urge to laugh out loud.
Lance couldn't get the cause of her sudden laughing and quickly changed the subject. "Some food stalls are close by. A drive from here will only take a few minutes. Want to join me? Word had it that there are a bunch of tasty snacks."
Centenia was indeed a bustling city, known for its unique snacks and beverages. The shopping malls and food stalls were always crowded.
Feeling a bit hungry, Bettie turned to her assistant and asked, "Do you want to go there?"
Bettie's assistant glanced at Lance subconsciously, feeling the silent threat and hints. The assistant replied, "No... I don't feel like go there."
"Well, I guess I won't go either." Bettie didn't want to go there without her assistant, knowing Lance likely insisted on tagging along.
Bettie's reply left both the assistant and Lance surprised.
Catching Lance's look, the assistant nervously mumbled, "I need to use the restroom."
"Alright." Bettie didn't dwell on it.
Feeling a sense of relief, the assistant went straight for the bathroom. After spending a few minutes there, she returned to the dressing room to gather her things before leaving. She then texted Bettie, claiming she was feeling a bit tired and had decided to head back to the hotel first.
Right after the assistant left. Lance turned to Bettie and asked, "Shall we head to the food stalls later? There are tons of snacks there."
Lance pulled out his phone, flicking through photos to show Bettie the food there.
Each photo showcased a different treat, all of which were Bettie's favorites.
Bettie felt a sudden hunger. Yet, she pouted, asking, "Wouldn't your girlfriend get mad about us venturing the food stalls together? She's in Mathias right now. Aren't you worried she might find out?"
Lance replied with a hint of mischief, "Sneaking around can be thrilling. It's our little secret unless you decide to tell others."
Bettie, unable to contain her irritation, punched Lance in the arm.
"I'm only joking," Lance quickly clarified with a chuckle. "I don't have a girlfriend."
"Then who's Keilani supposed to be?" Bettie prodded further.
"She's my sister, Royce's niece," Lance explained.
Bettie wasn't surprised. Lance's help in setting up a meet-up between Royce and Sabrina revealed his close ties to Royce. Given that Keilani was Royce's niece, it made sense for Lance to be in regular contact with her. ("Please don't read and report Chatper 1614 at the end list chapter !Thanks")
Yet, Bettie didn't fully believe Lance's words, assuming he viewed Keilani as a sister instead of sharing blood ties.
"So, when I asked you before if she was your girlfriend..." Bettie began.
"I was curious to see if you'd get jealous, Lance admitted with a smile.
"I wouldn't," Bettie responded dismissively before quickly changing the subject. "And who is Alice?"
