Chapter My Troubles 94
Chapter

This was the second time Norman had innocently said something that raised suspicions. It
was easy for people to start thinking that she was being used as a pawn in a scheme to marry into a wealthy family.
"I, um..." Nadia panicked, trying to explain the situation.
However, Eddie simply walked over and sat beside her, giving Norman a nod. "Alright. I'll consider it."
Those four words landed heavily on Nadia's heart like a mountain had collapsed inside her.
don't have to sacrifice yourself to not embarrass me," she stammered.
"You... you
The mask covering Eddie's face made it hard to gauge his expression. All Nadia could notice. was that, perhaps due to the heat in the venue, his earlobes were slightly red. ""Don't worry," he replied briefly.
He was as cryptic as ever, leaving Nadia unsure whether he was telling her not to worry about
her child's innocent words or about his earlier self-sacrifice.
Well, as long as he wasn't angry with her, that was the most important thing. She'd just
consider it a close call.
At that moment, a woman Nadia didn't recognize approached her. "Excuse me, are you Nadia?
П
Nadia nodded. "Yes, and you are?"
The woman shook the clothing bag in her hand. "Hello. I'm from the GS. Someone has ordered clothes for you."
The bag was opaque, and Nadia couldn't see what was inside.
Nadia furrowed her brows. "Sorry. I don't need them."
The sales associate kept a polite smile. "The customer has already made the payment, and the item can't be returned. Please, just take a look."
Norman's mind was working fast, and he concluded, "It's over. Someone else wants Ms. Vega to be their wife, too!"
He grabbed Eddie's sleeve. "Uncle Eddie, you're buying Ms. Vega clothes too! 100 sets-no, 1,000 sets!"
Eddie glanced at the bag and said indifferently, "This brand isn't worthy of her."
The fake smile on the sales associate's face almost faltered, But since Eddie was wearing a

mask, she didn't recognize him, so she ignored it and continued addressing Nadia.
"Ms. Vega, please, it's hard being an employee. Oh, and the customer also asked us to write you a card. Here."
The sales associate took out a pink card from the bag. Nadia took it and glanced at it, her blood pressure rising instantly.
"Here's your chance. Change into the clothes and dance with me. Otherwise, there will be
Mick" consequences-
She couldn't believe it. Was this man's brain mush? The cooling-off period was ending tomorrow, and they would be completely separated. Yet, here he was, still trying to order her around and make her dance. He was so bold he probably thought the whole world revolved around hilm
"This outfit..." Nadia had planned to make the sales associate throw it out, but an idea
suddenly struck her. "Give it to me."
The sales associate was overly grateful, had her sign for it, and hurried away.
Nadia shook the bag, feeling a chill creeping up her spine. She glanced curiously at the man beside her wearing the mask.
Nothing seemed wrong. She looked again, still unsure.
Maybe she was being paranoid, so she stopped thinking about it and asked the service staff at the event to hand the package to Mona.
She specifically instructed them to make sure the little card was delivered. Once she arranged everything, the air around her seemed to return to its normal temperature.
She looked at the masked man one last time. Well, nothing seemed off.
A bit bored, her eyes followed the staff, and she saw Mona take the bag. Then, Mona glanced shyly at Mick before rushing toward the dressing room.
