Chapter My Troubles 89
Chapter 89
Mick had just returned home when he received the call. He had been drinking, and the stubble on his chin made him look a bit worn out.
Ted, who had been coaxed to sleep by the newly hired nanny, Martha Biggs, was startled by the noise and ran out, crying when he saw Mick in this condition.
Martha quickly picked Ted up and resumed soothing him.
Mick felt even more irritable, turning to leave. Just as he was about to exit, his phone rang.
After listening to Mona's words, his mood suddenly lightened.
Earlier, after the fight with Nelson and the involvement of Eddie, Nadia was certainly in no position to back down. Now, she was regretting it, which was why she had gone to find trouble with Mona. Clearly, her intention was to make Mona report back to him, signaling that she regretted her actions. This realization made him feel much more energized.
"I'll send the money to you. She's in a bad mood. Just be patient."
After finishing the call, he quickly transferred 50 thousand and then went to his bedroom to lie down. With his mood improved, he fell asleep almost immediately.
The room was soundproof, so he didn't hear the sounds of Ted crying.
"Mr. Wilcher, you have to go to school.
"Mr. Logan is already waiting outside. Please hurry and change your clothes.
"The teachers at school said there's going to be a masquerade ball. If you don't go to school, you won't be able to participate in it."
This finally caught Ted's attention.
In the past, the kindergarten had hosted masquerade balls, and Nadia would make all sorts of masks, like magic tricks. He was always the one the other kids envied.
But he thought Nadia couldn't do makeup and only went between the hospital and home. So, whenever there was an event, he would take Nadia's mask and invite Mona to dance with him. However, during the medical competition, he realized Nadia was actually quite impressive. This time, he decided to invite her.
She would be so happy, and she would come back to stay with him.
"Alright. I'll change and go to school."
He grabbed his phone and planned to message Nadia once he got to school. She'd be so
surprised. Maybe she'd even be excited and immediately rush to the kindergarten to pick him
1. up.
Thinking of that, his mood lifted considerably. He even managed to dress and gather his things by himself.
Martha let out a sigh of relief. Ted could be.a bit mischievous, and while changing clothes, he had made a mess of the wardrobe.
However, Martha pretended not to notice. After he was finished, she quietly left Ted's room. It wasn't because she was lazy. It was simply because privacy was taken very seriously in these wealthy families.
From whether clothes should be folded or hung to whether there were lipstick stains on them -these were things she, as someone from the lower class, wasn't supposed to know.
Being a wealthy family's wife meant managing not only the social circle of other women but also personally managing household affairs.
She glanced upstairs to see Mick had already gone to bed and then tiptoed out to the garden to help the gardener water the plants.
Nadia had no idea she had swindled Mona, yet if left Mona earning 20 thousand-crying all the way to the bank.
Right now, she was anxiously looking at the big and small problems in front of her. "A masquerade ball? I don't know how to dance."
She had once thought about learning to dance. She even secretly went to a dance school to find a teacher, just so she could participate in the school's masquerade ball.
The dances at these balls were usually themed around anime, and the moves were simple and cute, so she learned them without too much difficulty.
However, Ted never wanted her to go to school. Instead, he always had Mona attend.
Nadia also felt her dancing wasn't good enough and wanted to practice more so she could surprise Ted next time.
But after the ball, Ted fell ill, and she was too busy to continue practicing. She had to give up
dancing
Thinking about it now, it had almost been a year since she last danced.
