Then Alicia denied her thought inwardly, ‘No way! I went to the hospital today, and then accidentally bumped into Matthew. There is no chance Dalton could know. If Dalton found out that Matthew wanted to kill him, he might take it out on me and kill me first. I can’t tell him that I have seen Matthew. The living room was eerily silent. Alicia couldn’t help but shiver, her lips. parting slightly. “No, that’s it

She lied to him. Dalton pulled up a photo and showed it to Alicia. In the picture, Matthew was holding her hand, and they looked quite close

“No one dares to speak to me in that tone,” Dalton’s voice was cold and sinister. “Alicia, are you afraid of death?

Alicia froze. “You… you madman, what are you planning now? Lock me up again? Dalton, people like you don’t deserve to live. I’m calling the cops!” She pulled out her phone, but before she could dial. Dalton snatched it from her.

Dalton crushed her phone in his hand, eyes red, voice filled with menace. “Lock her up! No one is to see her without my permission!”

Alicia suddenly felt calm. She knew struggling was useless. “Dalton, if you have the guts, just kill me. Otherwise, one day, I will make you kneel and apologize to me!”

“Over my dead body,” Dalton replied icily.

After Alicia was taken away, Lillian noticed a medicine bottle on the floor. “Mr. Slater, she is not that kind of person. There must be some misunderstanding,” Lillian braved up to defend Alicia. “Women can have bad tempers during their period. She didn’t mean to backtalk.” Lillian accidentally opened the medicine bag and was taken aback by its contents. “Sir, it seems like her

Dalton cut her off, “Throw it away.”

Fearing his anger, Lillian retreated without saying another word.

Three days later, a black Rolls–Royce pulled up to the villa. Ellen arrived with the doctors. She’d gotten a secret message from Lillian telling her Dalton had locked up Alicia for three days.

When they opened the door, Alicia was on the brink of collapse.

“Dalion, you’ve never been in a relationship, never pursued anyone. You don’t understand feelings, and I get that you don’t like Alicia. But she’s your wife! How could you treat her like this? This time, you’ve gone too far! If I hadn’t gotten the message, were you really planning to starve her to death?” Ellen scolded Dalton.

Ellen shook her head and called for the doctor. They took Alicia out, and after a thorough check-

the doctor said she wasn’t in immediate danger but was too weak to eat solid food. He gave her an IV of mutrients before leaving.

“Alicia, I’m so sorry. Dalton’s been like this since he was little. Don’t blame him; it’s my fault. I thought once you two got married, he wouldn’t treat you this badly, but I was wrong,” Ellen said, full of regret. “If he keeps treating you poorly. I won’t oppose a divorce. After the divorce, you can find someone who’ll be good to you?

Alicia knew from the start that Ellen just wanted to use her and never planned to treat her well. She didn’t believe a word Ellen said.

“If you could have Dalton’s child, maybe he wouldn’t act this way. And left a big debt. Most people wouldn’t have the money to help you…” E idea. “If you had Dalton’s child, he’d definitely help you.”

When Ellen mentioned children, Alicia instinctively touched her lower abdomen. The baby wasn’t stable, and she hadn’t eaten in three days. She wasn’t sure if the baby was still okay.

After Ellen left, Dalton walked into the guest room. “Alicia, even if you’re carrying my child, I’ll strangle it with my own hands!” His voice was cold as ice.

Alicia’s eyes filled with icy despair. She spoke each word with determination, “Even if I die, I won’t carry your child, Dalton. I’d rather have a child with a beggar than bear your child!”

A flash of coldness passed through Dalton’s eyes. “Remember what you said.” With that, he left.

After two days of rest, Alicia was worried about the baby and went to the hospital for an exam. Thankfully, the baby was fine. Alicia clutched the exam results and let out a sigh of relief.

“Ms. Mayer, is that really you? What are you doing in the obstetrics department? Could it be that you’re really having Dalton’s child?a woman’s voice came through.
