Leo’s eyes darkened. He wanted to know Arlana, and that thought had been with him for more than two years. But it seemed like Ariana had forgotten about him completely.
When Ariana was in her final year at university, she had helped an old woman with a court case.

He chuckled lightly. It was indeed a small world. He never thought he would get the opportunity to get to
know her like that.
He let out a small laugh and placed Yasmine inside his car. Then, he buckled her seat belt before saying, Mr. Hawk is a famous man. Who doesn’t know him? I just know you because of him.
“If you have the chance, I would appreciate it if you could put in a few good words for me to Mr. Hawk. After all, the more money I make, the better Yasmine’s life will be.”
Although Leo had said that, I couldn’t tell what was true and what was not. But seeing how good and gentle he was when he took care of Yasmine, I concluded that he must have been somewhat of a decent
man.
I recalled the last thing Yasmine had told me before she had gotten drunk. She told me that she knew what she was doing.
She also told me that she didn’t want me to sacrifice anything else for her sake and that she also wanted to do something for me for a change. I could somewhat understand her thought process.
Leo was currently her best option. So after considering their relationship, I did not get angry despite the slight disrespect in his tone.
At that moment, my hatred for Jasmine grew a little. If she had just minded her own business, Yasmine would have been a prominent and influential lawyer by now. She would not have to worry about such things either.
Coincidentally, Nicholas called me, disrupting my plans to stay over at Yasmine’s place.
Leo accompanied me while I waited for Nicholas to arrive at the lobby of Yasmine’s apartment. “M Jones, you could have told me earlier, and I would have just sent you home.

Nicholas sat in the car and saw two figures from outside the window. The two figures were standing very. close to each other, and the man seemed to be circling around Ariana. His heart sank as he assumed that
it was Pete.
Although he had promised to give Marcus certain benefits, his main purpose was for them to send Pete overseas. He would not allow Pete to appear before Arlana again.
Nicholas stepped on the gas and turned the car lights on, shining the lights on them until the two people had distanced themselves.
Leo smirked and teased, “I’ve never met Mr. Hawk before, but it seems like he had quite the temper. Is he afraid that I’d do something to you?”
As he spoke, he reached his hands out to hug me. Before I could come to my senses, Nicholas had already yanked me to stand behind me, causing me to stumble.
After creating some distance between us, Nicholas looked at Leo impassively and asked, “Who are you?”
Leo stumbled a little before getting his bearings. He adjusted his clothes and chuckled. When he looked up, Nicholas was met with a face he had never seen before.
“Ariana is my father’s goddaughter. So, I guess that makes me her brother, and that makes you my brother -In–law-”
