Richest Mogul

Chapter Richest Mogul 1050

Chapter 1050

In the parking lot in front of the theater, Skylar and Minerva each got into their own cars.

Minerva had originally wanted to invite Skylar for a late–night snack. There were a few great spots in Jipsburg that served excellent food at this hour, and now was when they’d be the busiest.

Minerva had always hesitated to indulge herself in the past, but tonight, she felt tempted. Sometimes, she would go to these places, but only to sit there and watch the food, never daring to eat much.

However, after running into Rowan and Jenny, her good mood evaporated.

“Let’s make plans another time,” Minerva said to Skylar

Skylar smiled, “Sure, let’s do it another day. Get some rest tonight.”

With that, Skylar started her car and drove off first.

Minerva was about to follow when her phone rang again.

She glanced at the screen and saw that it was Rowan calling. Her expression immediately darkened, and she rejected the call without hesitation. She hit the gas and drove away, not wanting to deal with him.

But just a short distance down the road, another car suddenly pulled in front of her, forcing her to slam on the brakes.

Under the streetlights, Minerva angrily honked her horn

“What kind of idiot is this?” she muttered, the frustration clear in her voice.

When the “idiot” got out of the car and started walking toward her, her expression turned even colder.

“What an idiot,” she muttered again, louder this time.

Rowan walked up to her car, motioning for her to get out.

Minerva didn’t budge.

The sight of Rowan irritated her beyond measure, and it reminded her of the child she’d never got to meet again. The thought only deepened her resentment.

As Rowan approached, he noticed her icy expression. His heart tightened, a wave of discomfort washing over him. He knocked on her window.

Minerva sighed deeply, realizing that he wouldn’t let her leave unless she addressed him. She rolled down

the window, but her face remained emotionless.

“You better have a good reason for stopping me,” Minerva said, her voice cold and distant.

Rowan felt a pang in his chest at her indifference. Her refusal to engage with him, her desire to distance herself, hit him harder than he expected. His throat tightened.

“I saw you at the hospital last time. What’s going on? Are you sick? Is it serious?” Rowan asked, trying to mask the strange feeling bubbling inside him.

For some reason, the image of Minerva looking pale at the hospital had been haunting him recently. He couldn’t shake the worry.

Minerva was always careful about her health. She ate clean, managed her weight, and had a private family doctor at her disposal. So why was she in the hospital?

If it had been something minor, she wouldn’t have needed to go to a hospital at all.

Minerva let out a short, humorless laugh. “Are you trying to show me that you care now? Did you forget who you’re with, or are you just confusing me with Jenny?

She couldn’t help but be amused at the absurdity of the situation.

Rowan had always been selfish–someone who pursued whatever he wanted, regardless of the

consequences.

He had been willing to break off their engagement to be with the girl he had loved for years. Yet now, here

he was, asking about her health. Did he not worry that Jenny would get jealous if she saw this? Or did he think Minerva needed his concern?
