Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James)

Chapter 1168

Upon hearing the words, Colby's brow furrowed slightly.

"Bea, I really owe you one," Sophie said, linking arms with Colby. "I already have a husband. Why would I want to be Mrs. Burke of the Burke family? Getting back with James was already a big favor to Burke International, and trust me, it won't happen again." Bea was so infuriated by Sophie that she could only point at her, stuttering in frustration.

Sophie continued, "Bea, think it over before you send Colt to find me again. I'm only giving you one day to consider this offer for the ten percent shares. If you don't take it, don't expect another chance."

With that, Sophie, arm in arm with Colby, headed for the door.

Suddenly, Bea shouted, "Sophie! How can you do this to James?"

Sophie stopped, turning around with a cold gaze. "I've always been fair to him; I owe the Burke family nothing."

"You!"

Bea fainted right there, prompting Colt to rush over, shouting, "Bea! Quick, call a doctor!"

The maids scurried around in a frenzy. Meanwhile, Sophie and Colby walked out of the grand doors of the Burke family estate.

Once, the Burke family's main house had seemed unattainable to Sophie. She'd longed for James's approval and dreamed of stepping inside.

But now, Sophie was no longer bound by anything-except Colby.

Holding Colby's hand tightly, she said, "I never want to come back to this place again."

"How can you be such a greedy little fox?" Colby teased, gently pinching her nose. "What you just asked for is nearly all of her savings."

"Those jewels might not even find a

buyer who knows their worth. Isn't it better to take them all now and keep them as family heirlooms?" Sophie replied. Besides, that ring is still with us. I want to see if Bea has anything else like it. If she does, we might find a connection among these jewels."

"My wife is the smartest, always knows how to negotiate."

tet

"Now you think I'm good at negotiating, but in a few years, you might find me too petty. They say, 'The grass is always greener on the other side!""

Colby chuckled. "The most beautiful flower in the world is right in front of me. How could I ever look elsewhere? Besides, all my assets are in your hands. If I ever changed my heart, you'd kick me out without a penny."

"You really get me! If you ever stray, the old man will definitely side with me, and Colby, being a little beggar in Devonport wouldn't be too bad." Colby wrapped his arms around Sophie's waist. "Naughty, but I love it."

Meanwhile-

Outside the Burke family mansion, James silently watched the scene unfold, hiding behind a wall as if afraid of being noticed.

He chuckled softly.

Colby was right.

The most beautiful flower in the world had been right in front of him. Yet, he had been blind to it, letting it wither and fade. Even if he had another chance, he could only watch as someone else cherished her.

James, you truly failed.
