Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James)

Chapter 1075

Upon hearing this, Sophie finally felt a wave of relief wash over her.

"The doctor said you need to stay in the hospital for observation. For the next few days, you'll be here, and I'll take care of you," she said, her voice softening.

She paused for a moment and then added with a hint of a smile, "Actually, it's not just me. We've got some extra help lined up."

"Oh?" Colby raised an eyebrow in curiosity.

Before Sophie could explain further, there was a knock on the door. A group of nervous-looking male orderlies shuffled in, clearly intimidated by Colby's presence. They stood there, barely daring to breathe.

"Colby, we're the hospital orderlies, assigned to take care of your daily needs during your stay," one of them stammered out. "Orderlies, huh?" Sophie raised an eyebrow skeptically. "You guys look awfully familiar. Haven't we met somewhere before?"

"Ms. Sophie, you must be mistaken! We're just regular hospital orderlies!" they insisted in unison, their voices shaky.

Sophie walked up to them, her gaze piercing. "You guys have been hanging around Odie a lot. Did you really think I wouldn't recognize you?"

The men exchanged nervous glances before one of them pleaded, "Ms. Sophie, we're just following orders. If we don't do our job, we'll get punished! Please, have mercy on us and don't expose us!"

Sophie sighed, deciding to let it go. As long as Odie wasn't trying to cause trouble for Colby, she was fine with having extra hands on deck.

"Have any of you ever worked as orderlies before?" she asked, crossing her arms.

The men quickly shook their heads.

"So, what did you do before? Were you just Odie's muscle?" she pressed.

They nodded vigorously.

"And what did Odie tell you to do with Colby?" Sophie continued, her curiosity piqued.

One of the men finally spoke up, "The boss said to make sure Colby stays alive. That's it." "That's it?" Sophie frowned. "That's a pretty low bar."

She had hoped Odie's men would be somewhat useful, maybe saving her the trouble and expense of hiring professional orderlies. But it seemed they had no clue about caregiving.

"Can you at least serve tea and water?" she asked, her tone a bit exasperated.

"We can definitely do that!" the men replied, a bit too enthusiastically.

Sophie sighed again but nodded. "Alright, for the next few days, your job will be to serve Colby tea and water." "Yes, yes, it would be our honor to serve Colby!" they chorused, visibly relieved as they left the room.

Turning back to Colby, Sophie said,

"Well, that saves on the cost of hiring real orderlies. If you need anything, just ask them. Don't be shy Consider it a little payback for Odie's meddling." FindNovel.net

"But I don't want them to take care of me," Colby said, his eyes filled with a mix of annoyance and affection as he looked at Sophie.

He couldn't help but think it was an unlucky day chosen by the old man, making their very first day of marriage almost end in disaster.

"Colby, Sophie!" Jenna and Adler called from the doorway, holding bags of food. "We brought dinner!"

Sophie greeted them with a smile,

taking the food they brought. The

table was soon laid out with a

variety of dishes. As Adler and Jenna started digging in, Colby looked at Sophie with hopeful eyes.

"Honey, my hand hurts," he said, his voice a soft plea.

Sophie chuckled, her heart warming at his endearing expression.
