Gerald carried Sabrina's bag and walked out of the hot spring club.
When he met Nelson's sharp gaze, he instinctively shielded Sabrina.
His action made Nelson frown, and he called out, "Gerald, come here."
Gerald remained unmoved and glared at him coldly.
"I told you before that we're no longer friends." Gerald naturally wouldn't listen to him.
Upon hearing this, Nelson chuckled softly.
"I remember you said you would protect Sabrina in your own way. But look at you now, she's the one who needed to clean up after the mess you left. Gerald, you're not worthy of her," Nelson said.
Gerald clenched his teeth and fists.
It didn't take much to guess that if it weren't for Sabrina, he wouldn't have gotten out of jail.
"And what about you? As a husband, what have you given me?" Sabrina stepped forward and asked with a smile. "Gerald has given me everything within his ability. I believe he will only get stronger in the future. But what about you, Mr. Tucker?"
Nelson opened the car door and got out, grabbing her wrist.
"What are you doing?" She frowned.
Gerald stepped forward, but Nelson pulled her into his arms possessively and pressed her close. "She's my wife."
Then he leaned down and brushed his cheeks against Sabrina's, whispering in her ear, "Sabrina, you have no bargaining chips left. How will you get a divorce now?"
When Gerald saw this, he grew furious and grabbed Nelson by the collar. "Why do you humiliate her like this?"
He wondered why Nelson treated Sabrina like an object without regard for her willingness or feelings.
Did Nelson think he owned her entirely because she was his wife?
Nelson's face remained expressionless, his gaze sharp and intimidating. "Gerald, know your place before criticizing me."
At that moment, Sabrina felt disappointed and hopeless.
She knew she couldn't trust Nelson at all. Yet, she naively believed he would help her unconditionally.
"Gerald, go home. Don't make your father worry," she said.
Gerald looked at her, his face full of sorrow. "I'm sorry."
"Go home," she repeated. "I know."
She knew how hard he was trying to love and protect her.
Gerald hated himself deeply for wasting time in the past. He couldn't even protect the woman he loved now.
Sabrina looked up at Nelson. "Let go of me."
He surprisingly complied and released her.
She then took her bag and handed the car keys to Gerald. "Drive home slowly. I'll have Eva get the car."
"Sabrina, I'm sorry." Gerald apologized with his eyes low. He couldn't face her.
"I couldn't help you whenever you needed me to," he said.
"It's not your fault. This is an issue between him and me that we haven't resolved properly." It was because she longed for Gerald's warmth that she kept dragging him into such situations.
Sabrina got into Nelson's car and sat in the back seat.
She tilted her head to look at him. "Mr. Tucker, you were so diligent in dealing with Gerald's matter last night that thought you'd found your conscience. But it turns out you
