Rekindling Her Affection (Sabrina and Nelson)

Chapter 38

Sabrina didn't know what was on Nelson's mind that made him smile faintly. One could feel moved just by looking at his genuine smile.

Sabrina sighed. She didn't want to see him here while he was thinking about someone else.

"You should sleep early. I'm going upstairs."

Nelson hummed in acknowledgment.

He was the only one left in the living room, and his fingers didn't leave his ring on his ring finger.

Simon told Nelson that he was a sincere man. Still, Nelson couldn't help but wonder why he couldn't find her despite trying very hard. She seemed to have vanished from the world.

When Sabrina went to work the next day, Joanna said Nelson had left early. Sabrina thought it was good that she could avoid the awkwardness.

She was busy all day long. Just as she was about to get off work, Oliver, the person in charge of a trading company, approached her.

"When you returned from Malma the last time, you mentioned that the distributor said there was a problem with our goods. Just ignore her for now. Ms. Thatcher is here."

Sabrina rubbed the bridge of her nose. She felt that Amanda still didn't understand the situation.

The cause of the incident was simple. Tucker Group had an industrial park where a trading company was doing import and export business with a large, professional supply chain. Amanda was the distributor for their strategic partner, Sebastian. She secretly printed Sebastian's brand packaging and smuggled the counterfeit goods.

Sebastian sought Sabrina's help without wanting to have a fallout because they were good friends and had mutual interests.

Initially, Amanda was at fault. Sebastian would win if he wanted to take legal action against her.

Amanda had no place to vent her anger. She insisted that there was an issue with the supplied goods. When Sabrina ignored her, she approached Sabrina, demanding for an explanation. "I'm not free. Deal with it yourself."

"George made the introduction."

George was an old-timer in the trading industry. Although he wasn't up to date with the trend of online buying and bulk purchasing, Sabrina had to show deference to him. Thus, she went with Oliver. When Amanda saw Sabrina, she adopted a gentle attitude.

"Ms. Wyatt, I finally got to see you. Mr. Levine refused to deliver any goods to me since you were transferred from Tucker Group."

"As you said, I've been transferred. Mr. Levine is now in overseeing the operations at the industrial park."

Amanda thoughtfully poured Sabrina a cup of coffee.

"I wasn't thinking clearly. That's why I'm here to apologize to you."

Sabrina didn't drink the coffee.

George smiled and said, "Sabrina, Amanda came all the way here. Why not show some consideration? After all, you still need to cooperate with her in the future."

Sabrina remained silent momentarily before drinking the coffee out of respect for George.

There were only four of them at the dinner. Amanda pulled Oliver aside to discuss their cooperation when they were halfway through the dinner.

"Could you hurry and give me the A-grade goods?"

Their voices seemed out of reach from Sabrina. She felt something was amiss and sighed.

"I'm headed to the restroom."

Amanda smiled at her and said she would wait for her.

When she was at the restroom, Sabrina felt her vision was about to go dark. Her body was weak as she leaned against the wall.

She turned on the faucet and splashed her face with cold water, but she couldn't stay awake any longer.

Oliver gently knocked on the door and said, "Ms. Wyatt, I'm going downstairs to draft the contract."

Sabrina wanted to stop Oliver from leaving. But, before she could open the door, she collapsed to the ground.

After some time, Amanda called out to her before entering the restroom because she was concerned for Sabrina.

Seeing Sabrina lying on the restroom floor, Amanda rushed to help her up.

"Ms. Wyatt, what happened to you?"

Before Sabrina could say anything, she slipped into unconsciousness.
