Rejecting The Alpha Twins (Regan)

Chapter My Twins Baby 59

Chapter 59

Regan POV

I stare at my stepmother wondering what she is getting at, while he looks meaningfully at Alpha Jackson, the twin's father. What does she mean by coming to some sort of other agreement? Immediately I begin to feel a sense of unease, glancing at the twins who are waiting for an explanation, like me. Heather licks her lips suggestively, while Elder Dominick glances at her, his eyes narrowing, a shrewdl expression on his face.

"Am 1 to understand that you are proposing that you become Alpha Jackson's chosen mate, Heather Ramona, to reestablish your status in the pack and regain what your have lost?" he asked "

pointedly

I glanced at Alpha Jackson who was carefully studying the ground instead of looking anybody in the eyes. Was he trying to buy himself some time to consider this proposal? Why wasn't he objecting? Why wasn't he refusing to point-blank? Surely. he would not sacrifice himself to take Heather Ramona as a chosen mate. It was beyond ridiculous. A nice man like him, tethered to a viperous snake, like Heather, it was unimaginable.

Xander spoke up. his tone one of rage. "Father no

"Don't even think about it" growled Xavier, both boys' protective of their father and determined to make sure he didn't pay for our mistakes.

"I am" Heather's voice was sickly sweet, while Isabelle's face was pale, and her body continued to tremble as she listened to her mother. "Not only would it help us to regain face in the eyes of the pack, but it would also help to regain our reputations "What about his" I snapped, waving my hands, while Isabelle gasped and Heather glared at me, "he deserves to find a more deserving mate than the likes of somebody like you," I said brutally, unable to help myself.

This woman was shameless. A liar, a manipulated, and a cunning conniver. Why couldn't the elders see what she was doing? Were they so taken by her beauty that they couldn't see the ugliness that festered underneath?

"Regan Lourdes" Elder Dominick scolds me. "Considering the actions you have just displayed; I would keep silent regarding this matter as you're already in enough trouble as it is he pointed out, his voice grave.

I didn't care. Let him continue to threaten me. I was thinking of Alpha Jackson right now and determined to save him from what I considered to be a fate worse than death.I opened my mouth to protest but Alpha Jackson (at least that's how I would always think of him) raised his eyes and looked at Heather, his eyes giving nothing away to the emotions he was feeling.

"If I agree, will Regan and my boys be cleared without punishment? Would you forget about their transgressions today?" he asked gravely "and agree to leave the pack in their charge and under their leadership as I have wished and desired for it to

be?"

Silence. The elders glanced at each other. Isabelle was glowering but her mother patted her softly on the shoulder, a silent reminder to remain quiet. I glanced at my mates who were both looking at their father with shock on their faces. Of all the things we thought that Alpha Jackson would say, we had never anticipated that he would willingly agree to this request. Í felt sick to my stomach. This was my fault. This was my stepmother who was blackmailing him into doing what she wanted. I had caused this. I could feel my body shaking with unrestrained anger as I fought to maintain what little self-restraint 1 currently possessed.

Elder Dominick stroked his beard and glanced at his comrades. What say the rest of you?" he asked solemnly as Heather tightened her lips. "The Blood Moon Pack would still be under the care of Xavier and Xander Dominion but Heather would be elevated by simply becoming the chosen mate of the previous Alpha of the pack and of course would be well compensated financially, as well as Isabelle, both of them living comfortably in the pack house" he added, eyeing Alpha Jackson who nodded in resignation. Live comfortably in the pack house? Heather would become Alpha Jackson's chosen mate. I could feel my head spinning as I stared at the Elder in disbelief. I wasn't the only one, but Heather remained oblivious to the tension in the room, lifting her

chin and gazing latently at the Elder who remained deep in thought as he continued to speak with his colleagues..

"It is a form of reparations. Heather Ramossa lost her mate, who was banished by Alpha Jackson. His own mate was killed by his hand. It seems fitting for the two of them to come together like this. It will help to form a connection between the two families as the twins become official mates of Regan one elder commented, wrinkling their nose.

Elder Dominick nodded agreeably, a pleased expression on his face. "Financially, Heather and Isabelle will be taken care of for the rest of their lives, giving financial compensation and reparation. The continuance of the Ramona line could be another positive aspect of the choosing" he said slowly, Alpha Jackson's cars flushing and Heather blushing profusely red at the subtle suggestion of them choosing to have another child, a boy, to continue the Ramona name.

They were really going to do this. They were going to condemn this poor man to taking Heather as his mate and as his new wife. I stared at the elders in horror, feeling my mouth go dry as the words I wanted to spit out at them forced their way back in. These people, they were monsters.

"Father, you can't do this for our sake" Xavier growled, but Alpha Jackson wearily shook his head.

"Son, there is enough conflict in and out of this pack. I know the difficulties you have been facing with your mate" he looked at me and I bit my lip, feeling ashamed and guilty even though he was careful not to mention the exact problems, "and if this allows you to become the family unit you've always hoped for then so be it. I've had my time" he said quietly "and I would sacrifice myself ten times over if it meant yours and Xander's happiness" he added with pride.

"But father" Xander protested, his voice breaking slightly, causing his father to glance at him sharply.

"You will still rule the pack. Nothing will change. Isabelle and Heather Ramona will reside in the packhouse on the top floor as befits their new station" he said with an apologetic glance at me, "but they too, will still be underneath you and your mate as the official Alphas and Luna of the pack. You will not be losing anything by this" he promised as the twins went slack- jawed "only gain."

"Quite right Alpha Jackson" Elder Dominick smiled smugly while Heather nodded, a wide smile on her face.

Isabelle looked petulant, but merely gritted her teeth and looked away, I sensed she was far from happy about the compromise, but didn't have the nerve to say that out loud to the elders.

"Then I will be the first to say it Alpha Jackson," Elder Dominick said, holding out his hand and shaking the other man's hand as he stared him right in the eyes. "Congratulations on your new chosen mate, I and the other elders will remain here will until the ceremony is done, to ensure you don't go back on your word, and then our business will be concluded, and we be on our way."

It wouldn't be too soon, I thought resentfully, biting my tongue.

It won't have to be a huge ceremony, given the lack of time" a woman elder objected, while the rest nodded, their faces creased in smiles. "Something simple will do. Why not today? At sunset? Then Isabelle and Heather can spend tonight under their new roof and you can all begin the transition of beginning to accept your new circumstances?"

She made it sound as though everything was going to be perfect, that nothing was going to go wrong. I wondered if these elders knew what the real world entailed or if they were truly that oblivious. Xander and Xavier looked as though they were on the verge of exploding and even though I touched them, and held their hands, it wasn't enough to cool down their increasing anger. Alpha Jackson however, took the wind out of everybody's sails.

"I'll have everything ready," he said smoothly and just like that, there was nothing more to be said as the elders promptly began to leave the room, chattering excitedly to themselves, leaving nothing but silence in their wake, while Isabelle and Heather shot us triumphant looks and then also began to leave. Alpha Jackson said nothing and simply disappeared from the room and I was left with two mates, both looking as though they were made of stone as they glared in the direction that the others had left.
