Chapter Mystery
Ch 1
Trinity pov
Waking up today at six this morning you’d think I was going to train, but nope. Us lower wolves don’t get to train. Frankly we get handed a job for the pack and that’s it. If we get a mate, great. Most of us lower wolves pray that our mates come from other packs so we can get out. I belong to the Crescent Moon pack and although it’s ok. If I could have run away I would have already except my mom is here. So I’ve decided to stay.
I’m almost five foot with black hair that I always have back. I’ve got a few extra pounds on me, and do try to work out when I have some time. Today is just like every other day and I jump out of bed heading to the shower so I can quickly get ready. I’m turning 18 in a few days, and always wonder who my mate could be. I’m praying there’s no one here, because I want to leave. Mom said she would come with me because she’s getting tired also.
My parents had already had their kids and were just about done and had a whoopsie. Then there was me. Dad died in the last rogue attack so now it’s just my mom and I here. My older siblings found their mates already, and moved away. We keep in contact but with life it can get crazy. I can hear my mom yelling at me to hurry up so I jump out and quickly get dressed, throwing back my hair.
We go running out of the house towards the pack house at full speed. We have two hours to get breakfast going and then get lunch started. It’s the same fucking think every day, and I’m getting tired of it. We quickly ran in with the rest of the workers getting everything pulled out. We get a system going and before long the time is flying by. We get the heaters started and warmed up when we start setting out the food. We watch warriors packing in when we lift the tops and they start grabbing food.
We go through trays of food quickly and replace them just as fast. Molly put the next tray in place but it got caught and wasn’t getting in place. I quickly ran around to the front of the counter to help her get it into place. When we finally get it in place I quickly wipe my hands when I feel myself go flying onto the ground.
I quickly look up when I see Raston the head warrior looking down at me laughing. I just stare at everyone around when others are also laughing at the situation.
“Learn to stay the fuck out of the way!”
I quickly scramble to my feet to get out of the way. I make sure I go around him when I run into something rock hard. I start to lose my balance when a hand quickly grabs me to steady my feet. I look up and see Alpha Tarnac looking down at me.
“Are you ok Trinity?”
I just quickly nod my head and scramble away to get back into the kitchen when Molly wraps her arms around me. I see the Alpha go over to Raston and stand right next to him. Everyone is still waiting to see what the Alpha is going to do or say.
“Raston, if I ever see you pushing around anybody in this pack again we will have issues, is that understood?”
“Yes Alpha.”
“That goes for everyone in here! If I ever see anyone pushing around someone else in this pack there will be fucking issues! I will not stand for it! Is that understood?”
“Yes Alpha.”
I see Raston look straight at me sneering and know that this won’t be the last of the issues I have with him. He has always had issues with me and never understood why. I never did anything to him, and always stayed away. I just turn away when tears start to fall. I look at my mom and beg her to let me go home. I just can’t be here right now. She nods her head and I let go of Molly and make a beeline for the door.
When I exit the building I run straight for the woods. I shifted a couple years ago, and when my mom saw my wolf she had me quickly shift back. My wolf is pure white with ice blue eyes. She had never seen anything like me so she knew I was special. I was already a target, and she didn’t want me to be an even bigger one. I go straight to our house and out back stripping to shift.
I let Ava come out and we ran, stretching out our legs. She is having so much fun running through the forest dodging trees and rolling around we don’t even realize we’ve been followed. We stand up shaking out our fur when we decide to head back to the house. The moment we turn around we see him. This huge black wolf that towers over us. I don’t want any trouble when Ava quickly rolls to her back to show submission.
I see him shift to his human form dropping to his knees and just stares at us. Ava and I keep trying to figure out what to do. Should we run? He’d catch us in two steps. So what else is there to do?
“Shift!”
I just stare at him when he growls loudly making Ava and I tremble.
“I said shift!”
Ava steps back when I just cower on the ground crying.
“I’m sorry Alpha, I didn’t mean to disobey, I promise. My wolf just needed to run since she doesn’t get out too often.”
“Why do you not let your wolf out more?”
“I don’t want to be a target more than what I already am.”
“When do you turn eighteen?”
“A couple days sir.”
“Your wolf is stunning.”
“I gotta go.”
I go to walk by him when he sticks out his arm stopping me in my tracks. I just close my eyes praying that he doesn’t do anything. I know he’s the Alpha but he’s not exactly a small guy. He’s about seven foot tall. Well from my perspective he’s very tall. Tanned skin and very well built. He still hasn’t found his mate, and I know he’s starting to lose hope. He’s 24 and every year that goes by gets him more frustrated. I can feel his breath on my neck, and I can’t help but tremble.
“I pray that in a couple days when you turn eighteen you will be my mate. I would make you love being here. I know how you don’t like it here. If I turn out to be your mate please give it a chance. I need direction on what I can do to improve it. Please if you are my mate don’t reject me.”
I opened my eyes and whipped my face to look straight at him.
“Why on earth would I do that?”
“Just please don’t. I will do whatever I need to do to make you happy.”
I just nod my head when I take off and run back towards my house. Yeah right my mate the Alpha. What are the fucking odds of that?
