Chapter Chapter Twelve (Third-Person POV, pt. 4)
King Iain Niccolo DuBauer and his husband and co-ruler King Archer Dominic DuBauer were sitting in one of the ten parlors of the Zallenda Main manor, both of them sullen-faced as their long-lost son Carson is still comatose and unaware of what’s to come.
They knew that they lost so much precious time with their son- heck, they never got a chance to see them be born since the kind Rogue werewolf couple they had chosen to take in and be a surrogate for their child was scared off by a rogue hunter. They were hoping and praying that one fine day their Carson would be loved and cared for by the pack that took him in when he was a baby. But they weren’t too happy when most of the now-exiled wolves wanted him gone and either sold into slavery or a sex-trafficking network... or used as a sacrificial lamb by a sadistic Alpha wolf who wanted him gone. They knew that the former Alpha and Luna known as Harvey and Delia were one of the few people (alongside their daughter and current Alpha Female Ciara) were the ones to take pity on him and made sure to help Carson be as comfortable as possible despite him being unable to go to school and used as a punching bag. And for their efforts, those compassionate people (alongside Miles, the wolf who led the scarred Carson out of the pack grounds before he performed the ritual) would be given places of honor.
But as for Regan Zallenda, the heartless and foolish teenager who rejected their son because he was a male Omega- something that he despised and wanted to be erased from the world altogether? Well, they were none too happy when they learned that he was going to overthrow their kingdom and take the crown as his own. But little did Regan know was that they were more powerful than he’d think- they were descendants of the Moon Goddess themselves and their son was destined for something greater than they imagined.
“Iain?” Archer mumbled to his husband as the two of them were cuddled on the leather couch and watching the fireplace roar with heat.
“Yeah, babe?” his husband asked.
“If Regan does kill our son- Goddess forbid it should happen, I want him to be killed slowly and painfully... by the both of us,” Archer said. “Carson is our baby and-”
“I know,” Iain said. “We never got a chance to meet him. And I pray that the Goddess- our ancestor herself- decides to take him to the afterlife or bring him back to us.”
“If he does wake up, we’ll be grateful to know that the Elite chose him as their mate,” Archer agreed. “They will no doubt love him even after death.”
“But we can’t die, remember?” Iain replied, chuckling softly. “But you are right, my love. Carson deserves so much better than the fate he was dealt with.”
“So, what now?” Archer asked.
Iain looked into the eyes of his husband. “We keep praying for Carson to wake up while we prepare for what can be a battle like none other,” he said firmly. “And as for Regan, he will die a slow and painful death.”
And that was a promise he planned to keep.

Fianna was in the meadow, looking up into the sky as the sun was shining bright. “Gia, are you happy up there?” she asked as a soft breeze flew through the rolling green hills. “And are Tamia and LaRae having fun as well?”
“We miss you, sister,” a soft yet tough female’s voice said. “But you need to ask the one question you have in your heart.”
Fianna sighed. “All right. Will our friend- the man who was supposed to be your husband and father of your twins- wake up or join you and the others?” she asked.
A pause, then, “All will be made clear by tomorrow’s midnight. And soon, the Skyfall will ring in the return of Carson. Though my daughters and I love him and are grateful that he took care of us as a human, I know he is destined to be so much more with his second-chance mates since he is descended by none other than-”
“The Moon Goddess, as are his dads!” Fianna finished, her eyes wide as saucers. “I knew it!”
“Yes, but there will be more than what will meet the eye. Trust in the plan of the Moon Goddess, sister. Be strong and brave. And know that my girls and I are at rest. And please, take care of Mama until we are reunited.”
“Thank you, Gia,” she said, taking in the laughter of her lost nieces before they were no more. She smiled, letting tears of hope fall freely. “Carson, whatever your Ancestor is planning is bound to be big. And all you need to do is believe in her and rest for now. Soon, everything will be made clear.”
She turned in the direction of the main manor, noticing that it was almost time for the grand meeting of the leaders- supernatural beings and humans alike- as they were all planning to guard Carson until he wakes up. And he had to pass away... then at least he was finally at peace and ready to move on.

“Are all the leaders of the human military groups here?” Harvey asked a passing Omega, who was heading for the dining room with plates of food on hand.
She nodded. “And we should expect the rest of the Vampire Council from Romania,” she replied, “but we need to wait for the witch covens from Germany and France. They’re on their way, just tired from their flights.”
He nodded, letting her leave just as a harried-faced Delia came to join him. “What’s wrong?” he said.
“Well, I just saw the Record-Keeper of the Wolves, and it turns out that Carson is a very special werewolf- one that’s a descendant from the Goddess herself,” she said breathlessly. “Do you know what that means?”
Harvey’s eyes went wide as the realization kicked in: Carson Hadley was born a Royal wolf and his son made the biggest mistake of his life. “Does Ciara know?” he asked.
“Are you kidding? She’s pissed off for being the last to know but is over the moon because her best friend is also a heavenly prince. She’s calming down before joining us since she’s a little high-strung on the news. But for now, we need to talk about-”
“Delia, Harvey,” said a cheerful Fianna as her joyously-crying mother joined the three. “It’s about-”
“We know,” Delia said.
“But that’s not all,” Marianne said. “Gia said to me in a vision that Carson is going to come back to us, but nothing will appear as they will be when the time comes. It means that Regan will succeed at first but-”
“The Moon Goddess will have the last say,” Delia finished. “We need to plan for action now, everyone.”
The four of them headed to the dining hall where almost everyone was sitting down to lunch prepared by the omegas. “All right,” Harvey said as the crowd stood up to greet a calm-faced Ciara. “Now that my daughter is here, it’s time to get to business.”
