Chapter Chapter Eight (Regan)
“Shame!”
“Disgusting!”
“You should not have been born, much less deserve a mate!”
“I only pity you for being born a brat who has a heart of gold, boy. You have brought dishonor to yourself, your family, and the name of all werewolves!”
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. All these wolves, shifters, witches and vampires have all but drilled those words into my ears since I made my declarations for killing the human runt and make my plans to dispose of all the omegas of the supernatural community. And now, here I was in the dungeons with not only Keith and his dad but also a few other supporters of mine (they stood by their word of supporting my rejection and not wanting to leave, not to mention daring to challenge my Alpha sister and losing to her all at once) after I was beaten a hundred times with a silver whip laced with spikes and wolfsbane, my body aching like fucking hell.
I can say this about Ciara and her newly-appointed female guards and warriors: they can sure pack a whole lot of power behind their attacks. But I will deny it if anyone dares to tell her that behind my back.
“Regan, dude, you okay?” I heard the pained voice of my trusted best friend as he limped his way towards me, his athletic bravado now a hollow shell of what it was since his bright-red hair was matted with dirt and water and his skin caked with grime. “Shit, you look like a wreck.”
“I’m just peachy,” I grunted, wincing in pain as my bare back was laced with bruises. “Damn, those broads got me real good. And I thought Ciara was bad with her fight against me for the title of Alpha.”
“The bitch doesn’t deserve to be Alpha in the first place,” Keith grunted, frowning at the mention of my sister. “I know she’s your sister and all, bro. But there’s no way in fucking hell that I’d let a woman walk over me. And there’s no way I’d follow a female Alpha’s orders, no matter if she was a wolf, vampire, shifter, or even a human elemental. The Moon Goddess is one messed up-”
BOOM!
A loud crack of thunder made the dungeon shake with a powerful force of anger. “Damn, man! I think that the Moon Goddess herself is mad as hell for what’s going on,” I exclaimed, keeping myself steady while bracing the waves of pain that run through my body. “It’s that fucking runt’s fault for all of this. If only I had killed him in the first place when I first met him, none of this would’ve happened in the first place.”
“I should’ve killed him the morning you were supposed to arrive,” Keith’s dad, a now-paralyzed former warrior, agreed. “His presence alone made me want to shift into my wolf and tear him apart limb from limb before throwing his remains to the rogues.”
“Well, we need to make a plan to get out of here,” I sighed. “I’m going to get my title back and reclaim my place as the rightful Alpha of the Four Aces pack. Hell, I’ll even kill the two fags that call themselves King Iain and King Archer.”
“Dude, I never expected those two dudes to be the biological parents of the kid himself,” Keith said. “I didn’t even know that he was born of a female servant worker of the castle who was killed by rogues herself. To be real, that bitch should’ve seen it coming when she was attacked and killed after giving birth to him. If anything, she should’ve said no and left it at that.”
BOOM!
Another giant crack of thunder made the palace shake as I saw from the prison windows a giant bolt of lightning flash through the skies. “Shit!” I exclaimed, hissing a slow breath while rubbing my shoulder. “The fucking runt is the main cause of all of this shit going down right now. I need to make my move fast.”
I saw one of the female prisoners hiss a slow breath of her own. “I don’t like the sound of that,” she said, her eyes full of worry. “What are you planning to do, Regan?”
“Isn’t it obvious? I’m going to make my attack against the guards when they come in for the evening shifts and our dinner hour and then kill my entire family, the witches, and those losers of the Alpha Kings of Wolves. Then, I’m going to the hospital to get the comatose runt and make plans for the ultimate sacrifice so I can get rid of all the omegas in the world and be the King of all the Supernaturals.”
“No,” I heard another prisoner- a tall former warrior named Rory- say vehemently. “Absolutely not. No offense, young man, but even I know that you are over your heads in all of this. This is going to be your ultimate downfall if you plan to go through with all of this. All of this going on right now is more than likely part of the plan of the Moon Goddess herself. And if you fight against her will, you will lose.”
“Moon Goddess be damned. She’s the one who’s crazy for pairing me with the supposed prince of all the wolves.”
Then you know that she obviously had a GOOD REASON- and a VERY POWERFUL PROPHETIC PLAN, I might add- to pair you with poor Carson,” another female prisoner said firmly, her matted brown hair shimmering in the faint light. “And if you kill him with your sacrifice, you’re selling yourself and your fellow supporters to the devil.”
“At least he’s making sure that all Omegas have no place in the world other than slavery and sacrificial lambs” Keith shot back. “And I thought you’re a part of the pack, Francesca. Where’s your loyalty?”
“I am,” the female known as Francesca said. “And my allegiance is with Alpha Ciara now that Regan is not the one wolf to lead us to our demise.”
“What about you, Rory? Are you siding with her and everyone else?” I said, glaring into the eyes of the former warrior.
“In a word, yes,” Rory said firmly. “This is a fool’s game that you’re playing and by actually going through with all of this, you’re playing Russian roulette. I’m out.”
“So am I,” the first female said. “I want nothing to do with your sick plan.”
“Me neither,” another prisoner said as others joined in.
“You’re all nuts,” a svelte female named Sorcha said, coming to my side. “I think that Regan and Keith were right on the money and that the human runt got what he deserved. If anything, he’s the REAL Alpha and that Ciara and the rest of his family were all fools. All of you are fools, to be real.”
“Thank you,” I said gratefully while my wolf Anubis was snarling furiously. “And you’re not so bad yourself. Why are you even here in the first place?”
Sorcha smiled. “I got caught trying to seduce your dad,” she said sheepishly. “You’re much cuter and more-grounded than he is, anyway.”
Keith and his dad grinned. “So are you the one supporter we have?” the latter asked. “You’d make a hell of a Luna.”
“I got my twin sister Liana here,” she replied as her twin joined us. “And we pledge our loyalty to you.”
“At least we got five of us ready to go through with the plan,” I said. “The rest of you can rot in here for all I care. As for the five of us, we’ll be eating Carson’s body by the next full moon, which is in two days. And by then, I’ll be the ultimate king of you all!”
“Hail King Regan, the real Alpha king!” Keith and the others in my small support group cheered while everyone else just stared at us as if we had lost our minds.
