Chapter 1427
Chapter 1427 I Won’t Leave
“Hmm.” Gilbert suddenly responded in a flat tone.
Madalyn frowned. “What do you mean by ‘hmm? Have you really come to terms with the truth and let go of that woman?”
“Hmm.” Gilbert repeated the same sound.
Madalyn was pleased. “That’s good, that’s good. So, you brought her back to the Kooper
residence for the sake of her child, right?”
“Hmm.”
“Well, of course. How can the descendants of the Kooper family be left wandering outside? We should let her have the child first
and then send her away.”
“Hmm.” Gilbert seemed to only have this word in his vocabulary.
Madalyn was happy and did not mind. She stood up with her cane and walked unsteadily to Gilbert’s side, patting his shoulder in
relief. “I’m so glad you’ve come around. After the child is born, just use money to send her away. We’ll have done our utmost for
her, considering she’s an unforgivable sinner.”
“Hmm.”
Outside the door, Kisa listened quietly to the conversation.
‘It turns out that Gilbert really has kept me by his side this time just for the sake of my unborn child.
Although she felt a little sad, she thought that once the matter with Adrien was resolved and all misunderstandings were cleared
up, hope and warmth would fill her heart.
‘It will be okay, everything will be fine,’ she thought, taking a deep breath, composed herself, and knocked on the door while
holding the chicken soup.
Madalyn thought it was George and called out, “Come in.”
As the door opened, Madalyn’s face immediately darkened when she saw Kisa entering.
“Is it you?” Madalyn frowned, showing disgust in her eyes. “How long have you been standing outside the door?”
Kisa walked over with the chicken soup, placed it on the desk, and ignored Madalyn. Instead, she stared into Gilbert’s eyes.
I’ve been standing for quite a while,” her voice was calm and unemotional.
Gilbert’s deep black eyes stared intensely at her, with a coldness floating on the surface.
Suddenly, Madalyn slammed the table
You have some nerve eavesdropping like that!” she exclaimed, then turned to Gilbert. “You see, Gilbert, I warned you about this
woman She’s full of deceit and malice. She probably thought we were discussing company secrets and was eavesdropping
outside the door. A woman like her shouldn’t be kept around, but at least you have come to your senses.”
Madalyn then turned to Kisa. “You heard everything, so save us the trouble of repeating it. Once the child is born, you should be
smart enough to leave on your own.”
“I’m not going to leave,” Kisa said firmly.
“What?” Madalyn cursed in anger. “I knew a conniving woman like you wouldn’t be easy to deal with. Let me tell you, when the
time comes, whether you want to leave or not, the Kooper family won’t tolerate you.”
“I said I’m not leaving Gilbert, not that I’m going to cling to the Kooper family forever,” Kisa replied, pushing the chicken soup she
had cooked specially for Gilbert toward him and smiling at him.” This is the chicken soup I made just for you. It is chilly tonight,
so drink up and warm yourself.”
Madalyn was so angry she wanted to spill the soup, but Gilbert stopped her. “Grandma, it’s late. You should rest in your room.”
“Gilbert, this woman-”
“I know what I’m doing,” Gilbert interrupted, taking Madalyn’s hand and comforting her in a low voice. “All I want is the child, so
you don’t have to worry too much.” This statement sounded like he was saying it for Kisa’s benefit.
Kisa remained silent.
Satisfied, Madalyn nodded and left the room.
The room suddenly fell silent, and Kisa seemed a bit uneasy.
