Raging Barons – Silver: Chapter 28
-:- EDEN -:-
Running my hands down my thighs, I grab my knees and breathe in and out, trying to get myself back to steady breathing, but that run was punishing. Mia started off nice and steady. We were talking, and discussing what we were going to be doing today, then she picked up the pace a bit, then more until we were flat out running. Shit, I wasn’t expecting that this morning.
“Come on Eden, don’t be a pussy.” Mia laughs, but I see she is as breathless as I am, so I just give her an eyebrow lift, then blow her a kiss, much to her amusement.
Target and Chaos are standing, grinning at us both. “Come on, ladies, let’s get started or we’ll run out of time.” Looking up, I see Target pointing to the lawn area where he’s placed some mats.
“There is much to teach you, but to start, I want to give you the best ways to get out of a situation quickly, giving yourself time to run, get out of the danger, and get help.” Target points at Chaos, who steps forward and stands in front of Mia.
“The first thing I’m going to teach you is what is called the ‘eye gouge’, and it is what is sounds. I don’t want you to hurt each other, but I want you to know how to do this. Using two of your fingers, you slide them into the eye socket and under the eyeball, doing this in the corner of your enemy’s eyes. You can use your thumbs, whatever feels easiest. Yes, it is pretty gruesome, but rather disable them than you get taken or hurt.” Target is looking really serious and my stomach rolls a bit at the thought of doing this, but I would after what I’d gone through to save myself.
I watch Mia with Chaos, and she gets to his eyes, no matter how he grabs her. She may have to fight a bit, twisting, turning, but she always gets him. This gives me confidence when it’s my turn to try.
After Target and Chaos are happy with both of our attempts at eye gouging, we move on to elbow strikes. First, Target has me working on what he calls the low-to-high strike, which is aiming to hit the person under their chin. Depending on how hard you manage to hit him or her, you could break their jaw or even their neck.
Chaos has gagged a couple of times when we’ve gotten his throat instead of under his chin, but Target praised that even though Chaos was cursing under his breath.
Silver walks over to us and nods at Target, “I’m taking Eden now, we’re out of here for at least an hour,” turning to me, “run up and get a shower and changed as we’re goin’ on the bike for a ride.” Squealing with excitement, I take off for the clubhouse and hear chuckling behind me, but I don’t stop to see who it was.
I love being on the back of the bike, the wind in my face, holding onto Silver tightly. I let the tension leave my body and enjoy watching the scenery fly past. I know Silver is not riding at a breakneck speed, but it feels fast when you’ve not done it before.
Pulling into a park, Silver pulls into a vacant parking spot. Placing our helmets on the bike seat, we walk to a path that leads into the park. Silver takes my hand and links our fingers, smiling he leads me through the park, nodding and smiling as we pass people.
Once we get to a crossroads in the path, we take the one that heads up to a rocky area. Reaching the top, we pass a large boulder and then I see the view. It reaches over a forest area; the smell of the forest is amazing and you cannot help but take a deep breath of it.
Leading me to a position where we can sit and enjoy the view, Silver guides me to sit between his legs and I lean my arms over his thighs and look over this beautiful forest. I didn’t realize we’d even be able to get in a position to see this.
“Are you doing okay now, Eden?”
“Yeah, I’m okay. I love the guys at the clubhouse. Of course, Mia is a babe and although I don’t see Shar often, I really like her. I’m sure we can all be good friends.”
“That’s great to hear.” Silver says, then leans his chin on my head and we sit for a long time, not speaking, just enjoying the fresh air and the peace. Somehow sitting here like this has me feeling like I’m home, and it’s the first time since my parents died, I feel someone cares about me.
Turning to Silver, I kneel, throw my arms around his neck and pull his face down to mine. “Thanks for bringing me here today.” I whisper, then place my lips on his. The kiss starts softly, but when Silver licks my bottom lip and I sigh, he runs his tongue into my mouth and twines it with mine, that is the moment that I feel this to be so right, that this man could be mine, he is mine, and I’m going to do everything I can to keep him.
Back at the clubhouse I rush into the kitchen to find Meat is handing out bowls of soup. I grab a bowl and head to a table, sitting down and take a smell of the soup. Silver sits next to me grinning, “You hungry, babe?” and I give him a nod but take my first spoonful and groan as the taste of carrot and coriander hits my taste buds.
“I want to make some onion rings to take to the club for Tony. He’s going to swap a recipe with me if he likes them.” I grin, “I’m going to share my meat loaf recipe with Meat too.”
“Oh, you’re gonna have a swap shop going at this rate, babe.” Silver laughs.
Meat had overheard, and he saunters over before sitting opposite us at the table. “Mia’s gonna teach me her lemon drizzle cake, too.”
“Maybe we could have a morning every week where we try something new?” leaning forward in my seat, “Meat, it would be great. We could try all sorts of things.”
Meat considers what I have to say, then nods, “Yeah, well, what about Wednesday mornings?”
Looking at Silver, I nod. “What do you think Silver, will that be okay?”
“You don’t have to ask my permission. If you want to do that, then do it. I’m happy if you’re happy.” Silver leans over, kisses my forehead, then takes our bowls over to the sink. “I’ll catch up later before we have to go to the club, going to be later today, as Mav said he’d go over earlier for me.”
“Oh, okay, that’s good. I may have some things to do this afternoon, too.” I state as I’m thinking I really need to go to my house and see if I can get into the safe in the basement. Maybe my parents left something in it and I don’t think Stan knew the safe combination, so anything left for me should still be there.
Mia walks in and sits next to me and I lean over to whisper, “You up for breaking out of here? Because I’m sick of being followed around all the damn time. They are teaching us to protect ourselves, yet they won’t actually let us out of their sights, it’s getting on my nerves.”
Looking at me through her eyelashes, Mia gives me a subtle nod, then whispers back, “Where are we going? But I totally agree, I’m sick of being followed around all the damn time, we’re not babies for goodness sake, we’re grown women and I’ve had to stand up for myself for years, including when I was in prison for something I didn’t do.”
“I need to go to my house, check out the safe in the basement. I don’t know if my parents would have left anything in it for me, but I want to check and see. Also, I couldn’t get all my stuff in the junker, so I could pick up a few more clothes I left in the closet.”
“Shall we pick up Shar? It’s her day off tomorrow, and she was going to pop over here, but we could pick her up and go to the house. She’s always up for mischief.” Mia grins broadly.
“How are we going to get out of here without being noticed? We don’t want to take a prospect or brother with us, do we?” I ask her, because maybe she thought we would.
We both take a sip of our drinks, giving some thought to how we can sneak a vehicle out of the compound, but as we have to go through the main gate, it’s probably impossible. In fact, it would be impossible.
“Okay, we can get Shar to meet us at the back of the compound and if we wander over that way we can get under the fencing, I’ve kept meaning to tell Axel it needs fixing but not got around to it so I know we can get out just at that place.”
Taking out her cellphone Mia sends a message to Shar and we both sit drinking our iced tea that Meat had placed in front of us, but he keeps giving us enquiring looks and we both try to look innocent, which I’m sure is not helping at all.
Mia’s cell buzzes, letting us know Shar has responded and when Mia checks, she gives me the side eye and nods. “You go first and I’ll follow in a few minutes. Take the path that we do the run in a morning. When you get to where the path runs alongside the fence, wait for me but keep out of sight if you can” I give her a nod, then place my cup in the sink, smile and thank Meat then make my way out of the kitchen.

The next morning after our very tiring training session I’m rather excited as today we’re going to bust out of here and check out the safe in the basement at my house.
I rush up to my room, pick up my purse and check through it for the house key. I take out a few dollars and stuff them in my back jeans pocket, then head back downstairs, leaving the clubhouse from the front door because the last thing we need is Meat catching on to what we’re doing.
After Mia gets to me, we get under the fence and rush away to where Shar’s waiting in her vehicle. Throwing herself in the passenger seat Mia shouts, “Get in Eden and get down, we don’t want that Tommo guy seeing you,” so I lay on the back seat listening to Mia and Shar discuss the ‘escape’ as they are calling our leaving the clubhouse unattended.
Reaching my house, Shar parks, “Stay down for a minute Eden, let’s see if anyone’s lurking about. If there is, we’ll move away, we don’t want to take chances,” she says.
Mia adds, “We need to make sure we get in and out fairly quickly, Eden. Let’s not take risks, but all of us be aware, oh, do we have any weapons at all? Just in case.”
“What the fuck, Mia, we’re just checking the safe.” I squeal.
“Shh, don’t draw attention Eden,” Shar turns to look at me over her shoulder and grins as I’m still laying on the back seat, “if we have to defend ourselves, we use anything we can get our hands on, or we use our hands, feet and teeth.” When she snaps her teeth together, she has me giggling and I have to put my hand over my mouth to stop a full-on laugh escaping.
“I’ve got a nail file.” Mia states, which has my head snapping her way and when she sees me looking, she grins, “Well, I was called Blade.” I blink, shake my head, as I don’t think I want to know.
“Come on, let’s move. Get the key out ready Eden, we want in the door and lock it as quickly as possible.” Shar opens the door and climbs out of the vehicle, with Mia and I quickly following.
Closing the front door, I quickly lock it, then turn to look at Mia and Shar, who have grins splitting their faces. Then my face turns to horror when two men step behind them.
Mia and Shar turn quickly when they see my expression change. “Who the fuck are you?” Shar snarls, stepping back towards me slightly.
“Well, it doesn’t matter who we are. What matters is that you’ve come to us and now we have you all.” The taller of the two guys states, grinning sickly.
Mia, I notice, has her nail file in her hand at the side of her thigh, but slightly behind so these guys cannot see it. I’m getting ready to do the eye gouge that Target just taught us if we need to fight.
Taking a deep breath, I step forward a little. “This is my house. What the hell are you doing here?” and I surprise myself at how calm I sound.
“We’re here for you. I own you. Your sister sold you to me. You’re coming with me and you’ll be working in my whorehouse.”
“Like fuck you own me, and like fuck I’ll ever work in a whorehouse.” I scream, turn, and snap my teeth at Mia and Shar. I notice they both smirk, then all three of us launch ourselves forward.
Mia stabs one guy in the chest with the nail file, then punches him in the throat. He’s down gasping for breath and holding his chest.
Shar and I go for the other, who we now know is Tommo due to her earlier declaration he owns me. Shar gets to him first and goes for his face while I kick him in the family jewels as hard as I can, then as he doubles over, I knee him in the face, hearing a crunch as I think I broke his nose. Shar has hold of his hair and elbows him in the face, which has him bellowing, but she doesn’t stop at that. She pulls him down on the floor by the hair she’s still holding and kicks him in the head. He’s out for the count and we both turn to see Mia standing over the other guy. Looking at our man, Mia shrugs then kicks this one in the head hard and he’s out too, but she dusts her hands off dramatically with a broad grin on her face.
I rush into the kitchen, open the cabinet under the sink and take out the box tape I know is there, and we set to tying up these two and fastening them together with rope I fetched from the garage which is attached to the side of the house.
Knowing they are both secure, we make our way down to the basement and the mess is unbelievable. I do not know what half this stuff is, but it looks like Stan was storing junk. Making my way over to the corner where a tall cabinet is standing, I look over at Shar and Mia. “You’ll have to give me a push with this, as the safe is behind it.”
We all three drag the cabinet away from the wall and I step in front of the safe. I tap in the combination, which is my birthday, and it opens. Looking inside there is a jewelry box, long and black. I hand it to Shar, then take out the brown box, which is heavily taped closed. Last, a large brown envelope.
Before we can check out anything, we hear the door banging open upstairs. I look over at Shar and Mia and we all three make a stand, fists up and tucked under our chin just like Meat taught us.
Feet storm down the stairs into the basement and we all make the mistake of relaxing when we see Axel, Target, Silver and Brad, the prospect. Oh shit, we are in trouble; I think to myself when I see the look on all their faces.
“What the fuck do you all think you are doing?” Axel snarls, he’s pretty red in the face, he has a vein throbbing in his temple that I can see from where I’m standing. I look over at Mia and she’s looking pretty sheepish, but she doesn’t respond.
“You all three are going to pay for this shit. You can’t go running around doing stuff like this. You put yourselves in danger when we are here to watch you to make sure you’re safe.” Axel continues, and by the looks of his face, he will not give in to stop shouting at us anytime soon.
Mia steps forward, puts her hands on her hips, then calmly states, “Can you not see we were perfectly capable of looking after ourselves? Two upstairs, taken down, tied up and packaged, so to speak, for you all to pick up.” She then taps her foot on the floor, and I’m now trying not to smirk, she continues, “we are three capable women and if we can’t do as we like, when we like, then maybe we all three should move in here and out of the fucking clubhouse.”
The basement goes deathly quiet, and Mia turns her back on the men, widens her eyes at Shar and me, then says, “Come on, we’re going to pick up some gear from the clubhouse and then come back here.” Walking past the four men, we get halfway up the stairs when Mia turns to them. “By the time we get back, have that shit upstairs out of the house and I want my nail file back, clean.” Both Shar and I follow Mia out, but the vision of those four with mouths dropped to their chests in shock is still lingering in my mind.
Piled in the vehicle and driving down the street, Shar murmurs, “What the fuck just happened?”
Mia laughs, “Well, we are grown women. You and I have been to prison Shar, we can take care of ourselves on the whole. Eden isn’t a pussy, she can fight if needed. What’s the point of them teaching us if they don’t let us use it? Fuck them. We are going to teach them a lesson they won’t forget anytime soon.”
Shar cackles and I burst into a fit of giggles and when I remember the look of shock on all the men’s faces when Mia told them we were going to live at the house my giggles turn to laughter.
“Well, I live above the coffee house so I can stay there on the whole, but if you want me to move in with you two for a while, I can do that. I’ll just lock up the coffee house and mosey on over.” Shar chuckles. “We won’t run out of wonderful coffee, that’s for sure.”
Shar picks up the speed and we head for the clubhouse, where we’ll pack up some things and head back to the house. I’ll grab some food from Meat, I think to myself, no point going hungry.
