Chapter 263
Naomi was not fazed in the slightest, looking every bit calm. Charles could not spot any difference in her expression.
Did Naomi...not care about Olivia's remarks?
Charles' heart pounded. They were sitting really close to Olivia, and she had deliberately spoken loudly, so Charles did not think that Naomi did not hear her.
If it was not that, then it was most likely something else. Did Naomi really not care?
Charles gazed at Naomi's tranquil expression, and he felt his heart fluttering at the possibility. He truly prayed she did not care, that she forgot about her former husband. He prayed that nothing from that relationship would wound her terribly and hold her back.
Of course, that was only his wishful thinking; he did not dare to ask for it to be true. Yet, at that moment, looking at how Naomi looked like she did not care, he was in disbelief. It seemed so unreal.
It felt as if she were to agree to be with him, he would think that it was all a dream. He would not even dare to be happy.
Naomi could sense a gaze on her. She subconsciously looked up to see Charles' nervous and annoyed glance. He seemed to be conflicted in some type of way, to her surprise.
This was the first time she had seen so many expressions on Charles' face. She did not know what to say.
They had quieted down, but Olivia's side was still going on.
"We won't order this dish, then. We'll order another dish!" she said to the waiter, as though fearing the people around her would not hear her. "I'll wait for the next time when I come with my fiance to eat this dish with him."
Olivia looked at Connor and smiled. "You order something. Order anything. My treat."
Connor looked at Olivia smiling condescendingly at him. She always had a superiority complex, thinking that everyone was beneath her.
Connor's smile faded, yet he picked up the menu and ordered.
He ordered three dishes. In the end, he closed the menu and said to the waiter, "One 'Till Death Do Us Part'."
The waiter was a little stunned before looking at Connor. Then, he smiled and replied, "Alright." He took the menu away and left.
Olivia's gaze hardened when she
heard Connor's order. However, she quickly smiled and said, "Looks like you're looking for a girlfriend. Do you want me to introduce someone to you? Thave a few friends who'd be great for you."
Connor continued sipping his tea and smiled at her. "You know what type I like."
Olivia's gaze darkened. She knew that Connor was not playing along with her because he knew what she was doing.
The more she did it, the more he wanted to go against it.
Olivia said nothing, but she gave him
a warning glare. She would walk
veine
right out of the restaurant should he persist, and she would not mind cutting ties with him either S

Connor said nothing more. He knew what she was thinking. He just wanted to do it appropriately. He already got the effect that he
wanted, so he would stop. S
Connor said nothing further, and neither did Olivia.
Olivia did not want to leave that early. After all, she wanted to know why Naomi and Charles were there, so she wanted to stay a little while longer. They quieted down.
Tranquil as ever on Naomi and Charles' side.
Charles had noticed his emotions. He collected his thoughts and said, "I was just thinking about something. I hope I didn't scare you."
