Chapter 260
Olivia was looking at Charles, so Connor looked at Charles too, sizing him up.
"You know him?" Connor asked.
Olivia looked like she knew him well. "Not really, but..." She smiled. "Interesting."
Connor could see that Olivia was in a good mood. He did not ask any further questions, but he silently observed the changes in Olivia's expression in even more detail. The waiter led them to their booth as they talked.
"Over here." The waiter gestured to the booth. Olivia smiled even wider. "How interesting. Really interesting."
Connor knew what she meant as their booth was right next to Charles'.
They were in front while Charles' booth was behind. What a coincidence, no doubt.
Olivia looked at Connor with a smile before entering the booth. She took the seat right next to Naomi, sharing the same divider. Connor could only sit opposite her.
As they sat down, they could no longer see people in the other booth.
The waiter handed the menu to them. "Have a look."
Olivia accepted the menu and started flipping through them slowly.
Connor said, "Order whatever you like."
"Hmm." Olivia went through the menu silently as if she was looking at it intently.
However, Connor noticed the change in her demeanor.
Naomi did not know that Olivia had come to the same restaurant as her, even sitting next to her. She was looking at the menu, finding dishes that were suitable for Charles' taste, at the same time interesting and local.
Naomi was absorbed in the menu. With the soothing music playing in the background, so she did not hear Olivia speaking. She was completely unaware that Olivia had seen her.
However, Charles did notice Olivia. He was looking at Naomi. While waiting for Naomi to order, he sensed a gaze on him. He subconsciously looked up to see Connor talking to Olivia.
Charles furrowed his brow. He never
thought to see Olivia there. He did not have a good impression of Olivia. Although he never properly met Olivia, he knew that Olivia had something to do with the night that Naomi ended up in the hospital badly injured.
That night, Scott also carried a woman out of Naomi's ward.
He did not know who that woman was, but he found out later that it was Olivia.
After the incident that night, he got
Sean to look into the matter and
found out about Olivia's existence. He also knew that Naomi and
Scott's divorce was not as simple as it seemed. He learned that
Naomi's
injury had something to do with
Olivia.
Olivia was not a simpleton. If it was possible, he hoped that Naomi and Olivia would not meet each other again. He feared Olivia was going to hurt Naomi again.
No one expected such a coincidence to happen in this restaurant.
Charles' expression was no longer gentle.
Naomi ordered two dishes before saying to Charles, "Charles, I've ordered two dishes. Why don't you order two more?"
Naomi closed the menu and looked
at Charles, only to realize that he was looking behind her as if he had seen someone terrible. He did not look too well. He was not listening to what she was saying, either.
Naomi blinked and said once more, "Charles?"
Charles came to his senses. "Okay." He looked at Naomi tenderly once more. "What did you order?"
Naomi said, "The Spring Mist and the Summer Blackthorn."
The names of the dishes in the restaurant were so poetic. They immediately put one in a good mood.
Charles then turned to the waiter.
