Chapter 216
The rain was not heavy, but it soaked everything, including Scott's shirt.
At that moment, he finally looked at Naomi, as did she to him.
Her expression was not as calm as before. Her brow furrowed in displeasure.
She was against him wheeling her out in the rain while he got drenched. She did not want him to do that.
He looked at her expression and knew what she was thinking about. She was not afraid that he would get sick. She was afraid that they would get too close together.
He looked ahead and continued wheeling her. "I won't."
Naomi's brow furrowed even more. Scott just would not listen to her. She could not insist that he listened to her as well. Thus, she pursed her lips in silence.
The rain stopped around four in the afternoon. Around five, Dylan called Scott to inform him of the location where everyone was having a meal. It would be too late for dinner if they were to head back to the city, so they decided to eat in the little town.
Scott took Naomi over to where Dylan told them he was. Everyone entered the room and started dining, just like the past few days.
This time, Naomi was rather distracted. She listened to everyone talking while looking over at Scott. He had taken her around the little town for a long time that afternoon. His shirt was wet, yet he still did not care. He continued taking her around.
She tried to talk some sense into him a few times during the journey, but he would not listen. She only hoped that he would quickly go back and change his clothes so he would not get sick.
Dylan was happily chatting away, but he noticed Naomi and Scott. He realized that there was something different with them, especially Naomi.
For the past few days, Naomi had been listening intently to others. She would ask questions from time to time and give her opinion without any care for Scott. At that moment, she was not participating in the conversation at all.
She was also looking at Scott with concern, a stark contrast to her behavior for the past few days.
Dylan looked at Scott once more and noted Scott still composed as ever, serving Naomi food while listening to everyone.
Dylan smiled. They were behaving differently after a few hours of meeting them. Looking at Naomi's expression, Dylan was sure Scott must have done something.
Dylan smiled wider at Scott, ever the scheming and manipulative guy.
After dinner, and when the chatter came to an end, they returned to the city.
At that moment, it was already seven. Naomi looked at the skies turning dark. She took her phone out and looked at the time once more. Once everyone got into their respective cars and left, when Dylan got in the car, Naomi asked him, "Dylan, is there a pharmacy nearby?"
Dylan closed the door. He was just about to buckle his seatbelt when he heard what Naomi said. He paused for a while before turning to look at her. "Why? Are you sick?" At the same time, Dylan looked at Scott.
He did not have any worry or nervousness in his gaze. On the contrary, it was filled with curiosity and interest.
He did not think that Naomi was sick. If Naomi was sick Scott would have sent her to the hospital at this point. He would not have waited until that moment.
Naomi's question was not for herself but for Scott, no doubt.
"No. Scott got caught in the rain while pushing me out for a walk this afternoon. I'm afraid he might catch a cold, so I want to get some medicine."
In Dylan's context, Naomi and Scott were husband and wife, which was why Naomi had to say that.
"Ah, I see." Dylan pretended to understand. He turned to look at Naomi and smiled. "Don't worry about Scott. He's healthy. A little rain won't do any harm."
