Pursuing My Ex Wife in Full Blooming Spring novel (Naomi)

Chapter 196

"It's fine! Dylan was there. How could anything happen to me? I was with him. If anything happened, he would've known, right? Also, Naomi, did you know? When Dylan saw what happened, he immediately came over and punched that bastard. The guy couldn't even get up! bastard Dylan also said, 'Don't you dare touch my woman!" recounted Belle over the phone call. She even mimicked Dylan's tone. Naomi could feel Dylan's anger and anxiousness through the story. She furrowed her brows.

Belle, however, did not realize how serious things were. She added, "This is my first time hearing Dylan say that, Naomi. I'm Dylan's woman! In his heart, I'm one of his! You don't know how happy I am that Dylan cares for me! I'm important to him!"

Belle was evidently ecstatic when she started prancing about in delight during her 'storytelling' session.

Naomi was not one bit happy. She could not even afford a smile. If Dylan had not seen what had happened or if he left by then, what would have happened to Belle? The consequences would have been unimaginable. Naomi could fully understand how Dylan felt at that moment.

She clutched her phone tighter. "Belle, listen to me," Naomi said seriously, her tone different from before.

Belle calmed down slightly and nodded. "I'm all ears!"

Naomi then said, "Belle, there are a lot of things in this world that are out of our control. There isn't anything absolute. Maybe you had planned everything that happened. It might be a perfect plan, but there might always be accidents.

"Accidents happen by random; no one knows when it will strike. One hefty accident may cost a great deal, and it'll be too late for regrets by then. Last night's incident was serious. Dylan's not the only one worried I am, too. Just hearing what happened makes me feel sick.

"I'm really grateful that nothing serious happened, but what if something did happen to you? Do you understand where I'm coming from?"

Naomi's tone was gentle. Even if she was being serious, there was no hint of a lecture or reprimanding in her tone. It sounded as if she was just talking.

Belle understood. At that moment, reality sank in, and she felt rattled.

Naomi was right. What if Dylan did not see it then? She would not be in one piece anymore. She bit her lip and lowered her head.

Naomi knew Belle was listening despite Belle remaining silent. "You're still young. You haven't experienced much. You might not understand it as well, but I want to tell you that there is good and bad in this world. You can't be sure that you'll always be safe. The only thing you can do is to protect yourself well. To love others, you have to learn how to love yourself first, or you'll be the only one getting hurt." Scott opened his eyes. There was finally a reaction in his gaze as he looked at Naomi, who was next to him.

Her gaze was lowered. She looked calm, without a smile but not with a firm expression either. She was serious and logical.

Belle's eyes reddened. Tears soon fell. "I-I didn't think that much. I knew Dylan was drinking with another woman at a bar, so I was worried. I just wanted to look. I... I d-didn't mean to..." She choked up a little, sounding guilty and worried.

The sound broke Naomi's heart. "It's fine; it's alright now. Luckily, nothing happened. Let's not go to such a place anymore in the future."

To Naomi, the bar was a very dangerous place.

For some reason, Belle felt like crying even more when she heard what Naomi said. "Dylan said that the woman has nothing to do with him but with Scott. Dylan said that the woman liked Scott..." This took Naomi by surprise. She subconsciously glanced at the man next to her.
