Pursuing My Ex Wife in Full Blooming Spring novel (Naomi)

Chapter 194

Olivia was certain of one thing-Scott loved her very much, so much more than he let on.

The Mercedes-Benz cruised steadily along the freeway. Unfortunately, it was rush hour, and so the traffic was a little bad. Naomi was so worried about being late that she kept glancing at the time. She was never a late person.

Scott was not looking at her at all, but instead staring at the traffic piling up before him. His expression was calm as though he did not sense Naomi's anxiety.

As anxious as she was, Naomi did not rush the driver or Scott. She knew that there was nothing they could do about the traffic. All she could hope for was that they would make it in time.

Thankfully, the traffic jam did not last too long. A few minutes later, the traffic was dispersed, and the car sailed onto the freeway, picking up speed.

Naomi glanced at the time. It was 8 a.m.

They would be able to make it by 8:30 a.m. with no problem.

She was relieved by this.

Naomi put down her phone and turned to gaze out the window. Herland was a scenic town, a stark contrast to the place she came from. Naomi admired the view quietly.

All of a sudden, she heard someone's phone buzzing.

It was not hers, but Scott's instead.

Scott, who rested with his eyes closed, immediately opened his eyes and glanced at his phone.

Dylan.

He picked up the phone. "Hello?"

"Jonas told me about what happened last night. It was all my fault. I should've been there to keep an eye on Olivia, but Belle followed me there and something happened, so I had to send her home. Then I forgot all about Olivia. I only remembered this morning, but by that time Jonas called me and told me everything," Dylan's apologetic voice rang out.

Scott stared out the window, but he kept glancing at Naomi from out of the corner of his eye. She was admiring the view in silence, as though none of this bothered her at all. "How's Belle doing?"

Naomi did not mean to eavesdrop on his conversation, but it was hard not to pick up bits and pieces of the conversation, considering they were trapped in such a small space together. She furrowed her brows when she heard this.

Belle?

What happened to Belle?

Although she only met Belle a handful of times, she could tell that Belle was a simple, naïve girl who meant no ill will to anyone. She felt like a sister to Naomi, so she could not help wondering what happened to her.

She turned to stare at Scott.

Scott, however, had his gaze still fixated in front of him and did not even turn to look at her. It would appear as though he did not notice her at all.

"How's she doing? She's perfectly fine, but she wouldn't have been if I didn't show up just in time! She's getting wilder and wilder by the minute. I can't believe she would show up at a place like that! I shouldn't have indulged her. Mark my words, I'll never spoil her again! I'll watch her like a hawk, and she's not allowed to do anything she wants anymore!"

Scott's concern seemingly ignited Dylan's anger and frustration. Although what happened the night before passed, he could not help feeling frightened at what could have gone down if he did not show up in time.

Scott could tell how worried Dylan was about Belle. He remained silent and continued to allow Dylan to rant.

Naomi stared at Scott. He did not respond anymore to Dylan, and instead clutched the phone in silence, his expression calm. She could not tell if things were good or bad, and she could not help feeling even more worried at that.

"Alright then. Goodbye." All of a sudden, Scott hung up.

What?

Was that it?

Naomi's chest tightened. What did that mean? Was Belle okay?

Naomi would not have cared at all, but this was Belle they were talking about. The moment Scott put down his phone, she opened her mouth and asked, "Did something happen to Belle?"
