Chapter 180
"Scott left after a hum.
Naomi sat there and watched him leave with her brows furrowed.
This was the first time she thoroughly reflected on herself. The problem was not on him. She was afraid that the problem was on herself.
She recalled her behavior and felt that she had done the wrong thing.
She felt that she could not continue this way. She should still listen to him. He was always meticulous and thoughtful. Although she tried to be that way, she was still no match for him.
Listening to him was the right way to go.
At that moment, Naomi relaxed. Gone were the struggles in her heart.
She changed her clothes and collected herself. Scott went to wash up too.
After getting dressed, they had breakfast together before heading to the cultural center.
The cultural center was not too far from the hotel. They arrived in less than twenty minutes.
Everyone was already there. When they saw Naomi together with Scott, they immediately went up to her and asked about her condition. Naomi assured everyone that she was fine and that they did not need to worry.
Chandler had arranged to take everyone on a tour around Herland to understand the city's culture for the first few days. Then, only they would continue the discussion about the design and setup.
The execution of the event was ongoing. He would also take the time to show them to see if there were any problems.
The event had to go well.
Everything was planned to the very last detail.
Scott pushed Naomi along in the cultural center, listening to Chandler's explanation. Scott was different from everyone else. He would look at Naomi from time to time.
Naomi was focused. Sometimes, she looked like she was thinking, or she might be confused, or she suddenly realized something. She would always ask if she had questions. She would also offer her opinion and discuss it with everyone else.
This was the first time he saw how talkative she was. She had such expressive expressions, unlike the usual calm and quiet expression.
She liked her job-a lot.
Time passed by in a blink of an eye. Soon, it was noon, and they headed to the restaurant together.
Scott had got his staff to reserve The Idyll some time ago. He was the investor in this event, including the museum's construction. Naturally, he was in charge of everything, including the restaurant. Everyone entered the private room, and soon, dishes were served. They chatted and ate at the same time, talking about what they saw that day as well as their thoughts on it.
Naomi was also eating and listening to everyone attentively.
Scott sat next to her and put food on her dish from time to time.
Naomi did not notice it. She was less aware of her surroundings when she was focused on something.
Quentin noticed it instead. He was stunned to see Scott doing that in silence. He had noticed it since the last time they had a meal together.
Naomi did not really like to eat pork. She only had a little before putting it back on her plate. Scott directly took it and placed it on his plate. Quentin had met many people in his life, especially the wealthy and influential type. It was rare to encounter someone like Scott.
He felt that Dean had a good son-in-law, a great one even. Although he was not a man of many words, he was reliable.
A reliable son-in-law was what one should always look for.
After lunch, they chatted for a long time before leaving the restaurant. They all headed to their respective cars.
Scott carried Naomi and placed her in the car before folding the wheelchair. He was about to get in the car when another car stopped opposite their car. Someone came out of the car.
