Pursuing My Ex Wife in Full Blooming Spring novel (Naomi)

Chapter 167

[Text me when you're up.]

It was a short but succinct message.

Naomi replied to Scott. He was most likely just checking in on her. This was unsurprising to Naomi since he was a responsible person.

Naomi replied to him and called the concierge. While the call was connecting, a knock came on the door.

Naomi said, "Just a minute!"

"Alright."

She took her phone down and slowly walked over and opened the door.

"Hello, Ms. Goodwin." A sprightly middle-aged woman in her forties stood outside the door. She bowed and smiled at Naomi politely.

Naomi looked confused, but she quickly got her answer. "Are you the caretaker?"

"Yes. Mr. Lawson got me to come and care for you."

Naomi finally understood. Scott got her to reply to him when she was up so he could get the caretaker to come.

Naomi smiled. "Alright. Enter."

Since Scott had arranged for the caretaker, she did not need to ask the concierge anymore. She apologized to the concierge and hung up.

The caretaker helped Naomi into the room. Soon, someone sent over a wheelchair as well as breakfast.

The caretaker tidied up the room and cared for Naomi. Scott was always reliable in his work, and so were the people he hired.

Naomi felt assured by this and was relieved.

She started working and researching after breakfast. She did not keep herself idle.

She might not need to attend the event given her situation, but she was still involved in the sculpturing later on. She needed to discuss with everyone what sort of sculpture and what materials they would need. There were many things to decide on.

Noon quickly came.

Naomi did not have a habit of napping in the afternoon. She got up quite late that morning too, so she was still energetic.

After lunch, she continued working all the way until four in the afternoon.

She had been sitting for too long. She wanted to go out to have a walk, but she could not move in her situation. Either that, or she had to get a walking stick.

She thought of getting the caretaker to take her out for some air. That would be better.

Soon, the caretaker packed everything and brought a thermos with some tea inside. Then, she put a coat on Naomi and pushed her out of the door.

Naomi had not left her room for the entire day, and she felt much more relaxed once she was out.

Ding!

The elevator doors opened, and the caretaker wheeled Naomi out.

The outdoor air filled Naomi's lungs as she felt her nerves relaxing. Even her gaze softened.

She looked around, and a particular sight caught her attention.

She saw a black car stopping right outside the entrance of the hotel, and a person in a dark suit with a jacket on his arm got out of the car. Who else could it be if not Scott? Naomi never thought that she would see him again so quickly. She thought that he would not come since he arranged for a caretaker and that he would be busy with work. She never thought he would return.

Naomi quickly thought of a possibility: He must have not left Herland yet. There must be a reason why he returned.

Her gaze resumed normal upon that thought.

The caretaker noticed Scott as well. She wheeled Naomi to Scott.

Scott entered and saw Naomi in the wheelchair. He looked at her intently and headed over to her.

The caretaker bowed at him politely.

Scott looked at Naomi, who was as tranquil as she usually was. The tenderness of her gaze was still there, just as before.
