Chapter 1328
The sun outside the villa was slanting to the west.
The tea tray on the table had not been removed, and Anthea's untouched cup of tea was still there.
Bellamy put down the military newspaper and went upstairs. When he met the servant who had just walked out of the master bedroom, he frowned and asked, "Is Meadow still in the room?"
The servant said carefully, "Yes, she said that she did not feel good and was unwilling to come out!"
"All right!" Bellamy grunted angrily.
Then, he walked into the study with his hands clasped behind his back.
At sunset, Adam suddenly came back.
As expected, he wanted to ask about the retirement application.
He must have gotten the news that his father had managed to bring back the application, so he rushed back at once!
There was inevitably going to be a storm between them.
In the end, Bellamy flew into a rage and vented all his anger on his son. The entire study was filled with angry shouts, but Adam's attitude remained unchanged.
Bellamy even injured Adam's forehead accidentally, leaving a gash there, which was bleeding.
Such a small wound didn't bother Adam.
He was just worried that Anthea would be distressed when she saw it.
When Adam went downstairs, he met his youngest brother, Simon, and Emily. The two of them came back to discuss the wedding with Bellamy. After greeting each other, Adam asked someone to treat his wound.
While he was looking at the mirror, his phone rang.
It was a message from Anthea. Adam thought that she would ask if he was going to pick her up from work tonight as usual and began to read it.
Anthea said, "Adam, I'm leaving!"
Adam's heart skipped a beat.
She sounded a little strange!
It didn't seem like a simple prank.
Adam quickly called back, only to hear the female voice of the system, reminding that the phone had been turned off.
He suddenly had a bad feeling.
He made another call to Mila and asked in a deep
voice, "Mila, is Anthea in the hospital?"
"Director Lee? No." On the line, Mila was slightly stunned. "I had assisted her in an operation this morning, but later she went out! But I just heard that she called the director to ask for a long vacation. I didn't know how long, but I didn't see her since then."
After Adam hung up the phone, the expression on his face changed rapidly.
He returned to their home in the military area, and found that a leather suitcase was missing and Anthea's clothes had also been reduced a lot.
Now he was certain that his girl ran away!
The military green jeep stopped at the side of the road in the dark night.
Adam stood in front of the car dignifiedly with his shadow stretching long on the ground. He was holding a burning cigarette. As he puffed at it, a large cloud of smoke dispersed.
There was no expression on his face, but a terrible storm was brewing.
Carter ran over from a distance timidly. He stepped forward cautiously and said, "Captain Chin! I've already searched the entire city from this afternoon and checked all the modes of transportation, but I haven't found any traces of Miss Lee!" "Keep searching." Adam said in a deep voice.
"Yes, sir!" Carter was so frightened that he stood up straight. However, he asked a question inappropriately before he left, "Does Miss Lee dump you again?"
Adam's face darkened and he glared at Carter.
Carter shivered in the night wind and quickly added, "Cough! Cough! Don't worry, Captain Chin! There is no sign that Miss Lee has gone abroad, which means that she won't leave like she did six years ago. She's just in hiding! I'll continue to search and I'll definitely find her!"
"Not really." Frowning, Adam narrowed his deep black eyes and analyzed coldly, "My father must have met her again. If he helps Anthea hide from me, we won't be able to find her so easily."
On the day of the banquet, Adam had carried the retirement application with him.
He planned to hand it over to the old chief there.
When he found out Jayden, he chose to go to see the old chief before the banquet. The old chief had already known about their relationship, so he directly sent some people to take Jayden away before he made a scene.
However, the old chief did not want to lose such a talented soldier, so he called Bellamy and wanted him to persuade his son.
Therefore, Bellamy had a chance to take back Adam's retirement application.
Mila said on the phone that after the operation in the morning, Anthea left the hospital. It was likely that Bellamy had met her in private. Now she just disappeared out of thin air. Adam had even used military resources, but he still had not found her, which made him more certain now.
If Bellamy interfered, it would be much more tricky!
Carter heard this and said anxiously, "Then what should we do now?"
Adam threw the cigarette butt on the ground and stamped on it. He looked at the dark night with certainty and answered, "She will show up!"
Soon, his youngest brother would hold a wedding ceremony.
Anthea and his wife, Emily, were friends who had grown up together. She would definitely attend the wedding.
Even if she didn't come, he would still be going to find her no matter what method he had to use!
Two weeks later.
A taxi was being driven out of the airport. The islands' romantic scenery could be seen everywhere outside the car window.
Anthea had just gotten off the plane and took a taxi. It was a long flight, so she looked a little tired. She leaned on the back of the seat softly. Fortunately, there was no time difference here with her country. After a while, her cell phone rang.
Anthea was startled.
She flipped through the bag and found two mobile phones inside. The one that was ringing was obviously the new phone.
She breathed a sigh of relief and answered it with a frown. "Hasn't the old doctor come back yet? Well, thank you, I know. If he comes back, please contact me!"
After hanging up the phone, she looked a little disappointed.
Two weeks ago, she hid in Francis and went to see the legendary old doctor.
But the doctor was not at home and had gone abroad to travel the day before. He didn't choose the group travel, so no one knew when he would be back. Anthea had to go to the clinic almost every day to ask about it, but there was just no news about him.
Anthea sighed.
When she raised her hand, she accidentally touched the little Red Bean on her collarbone.
It reminded her of Adam at once. She missed him so much.
Then she thought of the retirement application, and tears welled up in her eyes.
Adam had actually made such a huge sacrifice for her in private!
He wanted to be with her and he meant it.
In front of her, she could see the buildings of the church.
"Sir, here you are!" The driver on the right told her.
"Thank you!" Anthea said.
After she got out of the car, she took out a small mirror and looked at herself again. Now she was in men's clothes.
Perfect!
No one could recognize her!
