Chapter 29
Chapter 29
“He said he came to see you. I told him that you weren’t there. And then he left.”
“Is that all?” Andrew asked.
Andrew was seemingly calm and had no other expression on his face. But he was skeptical about her answer.
After all, Peter told him that Elizabeth and Henry were very close to each other at the staircase entrance. And in the end, Henry was angry with her and left.
Something unknown must have happened among them.
Like a small thorn, the complex relationship and confusing attitude between Elizabeth and Henry pierced Andrew’s heart. It might seem insignificant, but he felt uncomfortable every time he thought about it.
All he needed was Elizabeth’s honest attitude.
“He came to test your condition. But I deceived him. I also showed him our rings and displayed our affection in front of him. He was so angry that he left in disgust. Apart from this, nothing else happened. And I can vouch for it with my personality.”
“Well.”
Andrew responded to her without saying anything else.
Elizabeth immediately realized that Andrew wanted to know everything between her and Henry.
But he wanted to wait for her to speak up voluntarily.
“Well, there’s one more thing I haven’t told you. Frankly speaking, Henry is my ex–boyfriend.” Elizabeth decided to tell Andrew about her relationship with Henry.
Upon hearing this, Andrew finally had an expression on his face. He narrowed his dark eyes. And a hint of unfathomable affection flashed in his eyes.
“So you’ve been lying to me?” Andrew asked.
He spoke with a hint of coldness in his tone. It seemed that he was very dissatisfied with Elizabeth’s deceptive behavior.
“I didn’t mean to deceive you. But I don’t think there’s much to say about this matter. I don’t want to make trouble out of it,” Elizabeth explained.
Elizabeth curled her lips and did not feel the slightest apology for concealing her relationship with Henry.
“So why do you suddenly admit it now?”
Since Elizabeth had candidly told him everything, Andrew no longer concealed his attitude. On the contrary, he directly asked Elizabeth.
“It’s because your attitude is so scary. If I don’t explain it to you, won’t the gap between us deepen?” Elizabeth answered.
“I just want you to recognize your identity. Since you are married to me now, you should not have any further involvement with Henry,” explained Andrew.
He tugged the tie around his neck somewhat unnaturally, trying desperately to ignore the different emotions that had welled up inside his heart.
“Don’t worry. There’s no need for you to remind me. I don’t want to see Henry either. I will try to avoid direct contact with him as much as possible in the future.”
Elizabeth continued, “When I was abroad before, I had a very brief relationship with Henry. But after seeing his true nature, I broke up witly him. I don’t have any feelings for him now. He is not even as important to me as a stranger now.”
Seeing how fier expression was very calm and frank, Andrew’s initially tense face eased slightly.
“Then remember what you said just now,” Andrew said to Elizabeth.
“Well.” Elizabeth nodded. Then she asked Andrew, “Can we go back now? I want to talk to you about your treatment plan.”
“Let’s go.”
As Andrew spoke, he began walking and left the riverbank before Elizabeth did.
After revealing their feelings to each other, the atmosphere between them was not as strange as before. Both Andrew and Elizabeth relaxed a lot.
After returning home, Elizabeth took the treatment tools and went directly to Andrew’s room to look for him. During this time, she also inquired about the whole process of him being drugged back then.
Andrew’s attitude was very stable. And he almost answered all the questions Elizabeth asked.
Chapter 29
After learning about Andrew’s specific situation. Elizabeth made arrangements for the subsequent treatment plan. Andrew did not reject her now, indicating that his condition was gradually improving.
And she could also try to bring Andrew into contact with other women, such as some female elders of the Hayes family, to open his heart.
After talking with Elizabeth, Andrew lay on the bed and slowly fell asleep.
Elizabeth stood by the edge of the bed, looking fixedly at the sleeping man on the bed.
As Andrew slept, he looked completely different from usual. His features, which were originally stern, had faded entirely from their sharpness. Instead, he looked unoffensive and even a bit childish now.
Elizabeth couldn’t help but take a few more glances at Andrew. And she even sighed inwardly at Andrew’s experience.
Perhaps this was Andrew’s most authentic personality. However, due to being born into a wealthy family, he had become accustomed to living with a mask on.
Thinking of this, Elizabeth secretly cheered herself up inwardly.
She decided that she would fulfill her duties as a psychologist and heal Andrew completely.
After bending down to help Andrew adjust the quilt, Elizabeth immediately turned around and returned to her bedroom.
At midnight. Andrew still lay quietly in bed.
It seemed that he was having a nightmare. He gripped the bedsheet, and his initially relaxed eyebrows tightly furrowed.
Andrew gritted his teeth vigorously. His smooth forehead was covered in dense beads of sweat.
In Andrew’s dream, his tall body leaned weakly against the cold wall, and his clothes were wet with sweat.
The feeling of pain and torment surged uncontrollably from his body. His eyes turned red, and a heavily muffled moan overflowed from his throat.
There were several women dressed in revealing clothes. They looked at him up and down with wild eyes.
Their unbridled gaze made Andrew feel nauseous.
He screamed and asked them to get out.
His hands clenched tightly into fists, and the back of his hands were covered in wounds he made for sobering himself up.
He grabbed everything he could catch next to him and struck these women.
He didn’t stop until they were frightened by his madness and fled one after another.
Although Andrew defeated them, he would feel disgusted whenever he recalled or dreamed of these scenes.
Suddenly, Andrew’s eyes snapped open. And then he got up from the bed.
The surroundings were dark. However, with the bright moonlight, the ferocity and gloom in his eyes could be easily seen.
Andrew raised his sexy and thin lips. And his entire temperament became bloodthirsty and violent.
He turned around and glanced at the empty bed. Then he sneered and walked quickly out of the room with slender steps.
Andrew went to the dressing room and took out many ties. After that, he arrived at Elizabeth’s bedroom.
Seeing the peaceful sleeping face of the woman on the bed, Andrew’s face showed a hint of interest.
He was like a wild beast that had been lurking in the grass for a long time and had suddenly seen delicious prey.
He pulled the ties in his hands and bent down to lift the blanket.
Then Andrew knotted the ties tightly and connected them into long strips.
He then tied one end of the long strips to the foot of the bed and the other to Elizabeth’s ankles to prevent her from acting too aggressively toward him and to protect herself after waking up.
After finishing all this, Andrew took the remaining few ties and tied Elizabeth’s fair wrists.
Due to being too tired during the day, Elizabeth slept deeply. As a result, she was completely unaware that she had been targeted by a demon, and all her escape and counterattack routes were blocked.
“Baby, how can you escape this time?”
After Andrew finished speaking, he lifted the blanket and covered Elizabeth’s body with his broad palms. And then he fiercely tore open Elizabeth’s nightgown.
