Rumors were things that spread speedily. 

But this time, the rumors spread ridiculously fast. 

The next afternoon, Elizabeth did not expect to learn of the rumor about Andrew from Eva. 

“That’s impossible.” She waved her hand and looked at Eva, who was suppressing her laughter. “Andrew is fine. It’s just a 

rumor.” 

Eva compressed her lips and nodded twice before saying, “It’s useless even if you and I believe it. It’s all over the news. 

“Now, those rumors were getting more and more absurd. What should Andrew do? 

“He looks tall and brave, but he’s a macaroni person. How funny that is!” 

Elizabeth looked at Eva’s grin and finally couldn’t help but laugh wildly with Eva. 

That was indeed hilarious, especially for Andrew. He was recommended to see a doctor. Thinking about the sullen expression he might have had at that time, Elizabeth couldn’t stop laughing. 

“Oh, my goodness! That’s hilarious!” 

Eva laughed so hard that she got a stitch. She held her waist and shouted, “I have to go back and lie down.” 

Looking at Eva, who was in so much pain that she was gasping for air, Elizabeth laughed even louder. She was shaking with laughter and rolling around in her seat, tears streamed down her face. 

When Henry entered Elizabeth’s office, he saw her laughing and slapping the table, looking crazy and not as ladylike as she 

used to be. 

It reminded him of his student days and the Liz who would giggle even when the joke he told was not funny. She would try to laugh hard, but Henry would criticize her. 

Henry suddenly felt a little sad. 

He had lost the person who was once deeply in love with him. 

He clenched his fists tightly and suppressed his emotions. He walked to Elizabeth and asked, “What are you so happy about?” 

The laughter stopped abruptly. 

Elizabeth, who had been slapping the table and laughing crazily, stood up straight. She straightened her coat and said in an unfriendly tone, her smile was gone, “Why are you here? Mr. Hayes? 

“You’re in the wrong place. I’m not your psychologist.” 

“Today is not my day for counseling. I’m here to see you, Henry said as he sat on the sofa. “I have something to tell you.” 

Elizabeth looked at Henry impatiently and even frowned in disgust. “I have nothing to talk to you about.”

Henry took a sports watch from his pocket and showed it to Elizabeth. “This is one of the matching watches you bought with your part–time salary back then. Do you still have yours?” 

“I threw it away a long time ago.” Elizabeth frowned even more. She did not want to hear Henry talk about their history. 

She walked straight to the door, opened it, and pointed at the corridor. “I don’t want to recall the misery of the past with you here. Please leave.”

Elizabeth was shocked by his shamelessness. “I married your brother.”

“A marriage without love is doomed. You can divorce him and be with me again.” Henry didn’t mind. 

Elizabeth sneered in rage. “You are sick.”

“You disgust me.” Elizabeth’s entire face scrunched up. She felt her stomach start churning. 

Just as she was about to push Henry away, she noticed that Henry’s expression was weird. 

His lips were smiling, and his eyes were affectionate, but his other facial features seemed fixed and motionless. 

It was terrifyingly weird. 

Elizabeth thought, “What’s his illness again? Could it be that he is suffering a relapse?” 

Instantly, Elizabeth had a very nasty thought. 

If Henry was in a state of relapse now, could she use this opportunity to worsen Henry’s condition so he could no longer 

harass her? 

However, Elizabeth quickly gave up on that idea because she heard Henry say something unpleasant. 

“I heard that Andrew is now impotent. How about you have sex with me? I know Grandpa wants a great–grandson. My surname is also Hayes. Isn’t it the same if you have a child with me?”

Elizabeth took the opportunity to run out. When she rushed out of the door, she saw Andrew’s car. 

She sprinted over toward it. 

But even though Andrew saw her, he did not stop the car. 

The car drove straight past her. The headlights even brushed Elizabeth, and she fell on the road. 

Andrew saw Elizabeth fall through the rearview mirror and wanted to stop the car to see if Elizabeth was all right.
