Chapter The Black Box

I am the night, you are the moon

My deepest love, my star at noon

I feel your touch, within so deep

My heart evolves into a sea

Of life... becoming so much more

And then... I pause... and see a door.

I kiss your lips, I crave your touch

You turned my heart into a clutch

My perfect fruit in every way

My darling love so this I say

I shall be yours forever more

I turn the knob... and open... the door.

I see the smoke it warns dismay

Arising where a black box lays

The burns abrupt, I’ll leave it closed

But it’s too late... the black box... exposed...

I have tried for so long... to suffocate the past...

But it continues to live as memories pass

A reminder of how things... were once before...

When I, too, was promised... forever more

The breath of fire speaks again

Remember me and remember when

Remember how and remember who

Remember it is I... surrounding you...

And I knew... that I didn’t want to know...

I feel my skin against the floor

My love continues forever more

Just leave my side and don’t return

The smoke inhaled, the fire burns

I gave myself to love in truth

The toxic fumes...

The black box...

Was you.
