Chapter 257: Contempt
Chapter 257: Contempt
Diana looked at Mariana and bit her lip with an apologetic look.
-Mariana, I'm sorry. If you don't want to listen to any advice from me as a judge, I'm leaving.
Turning around, Diana flashed a wicked grin and her eyes were tinged with violence.
But when he turned to the camera next to him, he was gracious and elegant.
It seemed that Mariana was intimidating Diana.
But Mariana was incapable of noticing these things, she was only thinking about what Diana was saying about the news on the internet.
She thought it was another good person had been dragged down because of her.
He had no idea that his simple visit to Mary to thank her would lead to so much trouble.
Mary's life had not been tainted in any way, and yet she had been unfairly dragged into this, at a time when she was about to gloriously retire from the design world. Mariana dropped her hands weakly, filled with nothing but guilt.
Mariana opened the door and was stopped by the staff. The man looked her up and down, his eyebrows furrowed with a hint of impatience, and spoke in a cold voice.
-Please go back to your room and continue working, you may not leave this room for 48 hours. These are the rules, please respect them.
Mariana looked at him with folded hands and a sad face. She covered the earpiece she was wearing, deliberately lowered her voice and turned her back to the cameras in the room so they wouldn't catch her.
-Can you let me out for a moment? I won't do anything, I just want to pay a visit to Mrs. Maria's salon, I want to apologize to her.
-What do you want to do with Mrs. Maria? She doesn't know what the subject is, so it doesn't do you any good for you to address her.
His words fell with force and contempt in Mariana's ears, making her shudder and unable to avoid taking half a step back.
The staff in front of him must have seen the news on the Internet and had misinterpreted it, thinking that his visit to Mrs. Maria was to ask for help.
Seeing that Mariana was still standing in the doorway, the staff was very impatient and pushed her hard. She stumbled brutishly and took half a step back to steady herself.
-I hope you're not giving us a hard time, we're just following the rules of the program. You can't leave this room until 48 hours have passed.
After saying this, the door closed quickly, completely blocking Mariana's hope of getting out.
Mariana buried her head in her hands and felt the air around her shrink, making her chest tighten.
"How would the news unfold in 48 hours - how would it be used?"
Mariana could not imagine how bad her and Maria's reputation would be.
He had entered Maria's room long before the program was taped, and the person had chosen to expose the news when it was closed and without any communication device so that he could not explain himself.
Mariana felt as if a heavy rock was falling on her body, making it impossible for her to sit down or lift her head.
He even forgot about his design.
On the other side, after Diana pretended to visit the other contestants, she returned to her living room.
Although she didn't have as much of a starring role as Maria, she had the added status of being a fashion star, so she wasn't given much filming in the room, and would be shown the finished film in editing before being shown to the public.
When she reached the door to her own salon, Diana looked in the mirror and straightened her outfit, then gestured to the cameras to keep them out and walked in with a bright smile.
But the next moment, the smile disappeared.
The expression on Diana's face was almost twisted, her hands clenched into fists, the sharp tips of her nails digging into her soft palms causing her to burst into pain, but still the resentment and anger in her chest could not be suppressed, and finally even her slender body trembled slightly.
The room was empty, where had Leopoldo gone?
Diana threw open the door and stepped out quickly, the sharp sound of her heels seeming to echo throughout the hallway.
But Diana couldn't worry about that at the moment. Then she saw her staff and approached, speaking coldly.
-Where is Mr. Durán? Why isn't he in the living room?
The staff member lowered her head in horror and spoke in a trembling voice.
-Mr. Durán... seems to have received a phone call and left with his assistant.
At that moment, Diana stared at the staff.
-Did you get a phone call? What phone call? You didn't leave a message for me before you left?
At this series of questions, the staff became increasingly frightened and her hands clutched at the hem of her bodice, rubbing it helplessly, but she said nothing.
Seeing his appearance, Diana had an answer in her mind, and for a moment, anger almost consumed her.
-Then why are you standing here? Why didn't you keep an eye on him? Did you just let him go? Why didn't you inform me when he left? Don't you consider me your boss? O...
Before Diana could finish her angry rebuke, a shrill female voice sounded behind her, interrupting her.
-Diana, what are you doing here? I was looking for you. Look at you, you take your job too seriously, it's not that serious a matter, so stop it," said Lidia, quickly stepping forward and pulling Diana with some caution, blinking disapprovingly and gesturing for her to stop talking.
Now Diana was standing in the hallway and loudly berating her staff, if this got out, it would obviously not match her usual suave and elegant image, and her reputation would be finished!
