Chapter 108

Athena's POV

When approaching the rock all 1 could think about was who? Picking or what could have thrown it. My eyes suddenly looking to that of the

the rock slowly, my hands begin to shake suddenly, scared at who itside only to see no one else around.

"That's odd...' I think, my eyes now moving to that of the rock, a plece of paper in which was folded neatly around it as if someone was trying to get my attention,

With a shaky breath, I all but move to unravel the note from around the rock, my breathing coming out faster as I all but brace myself for what was about to happen the moment I read what it was. 'Here goes nothing'

Then with a shaky breath do I move to look at the note. My eyes widening at what was written inside as I all but try to comprehend what the note had said.

Athena,

You might think you're special and that you're safe from the things that I have planned for you in stored but mark my words, once I have all the completed pieces of the puzzle, you'll all but wish you hadn't crossed that line with me that day. For once you're gone I'll be free to reign as the new Luna of the Mystic Shadow Pack alongside Ares and Eros like it should have been all along. Oh and don't worry about your pups, I'll be sure to take real good care of them for you once you're gone. - Lily.

Feeling the color suddenly drain from my face I all but try not to panic. The need to remain calm until my mates could arrive all but helped with my nerves.

'This... This is bad' I cry, my body slowly falling into a chair that was sitting nearby.

"Athena?" calls a voice, a voice that sounded distant as ringing begins filling my ears. Panic now filling every fiber of my body.

Scared, I try to speak out only to fail as my voice refuses to do so.

'You have to speak child' replies Artemis, hoping to get some kind of reaction out of me.

'I-I can't... I'm scared, Artemis' I move to tell her.

'It's natural to feel scared, but unless you speak up or call out, your friends and your family can't help you' admits Artemis, hoping to encourage me into answering the voice.

'Your right, I can do this' I admit, before finally working up the courage needed to speak.

"I'm in here!" I called out.

Then as if the person in question had heard me, they all but rushed into the office, Alarick having heard the crash as well as his mate who was currently taking care of Adrian. Not wanting to worry the child until they knew what had happened with Athena. "What happened? We heard a crash and that was it. Is everything okay?" asks Alarick, once he moved to enter the room, his eyes now

focused on me and as he did.

"I'm fine... It was just a rock. Someone threw it at the window causing it to shatter" I moved to tell him, showing him the rock that still laid on the floor of the room, having dropped it when reading the note that was attached to it.

"A rock?" asks Alarick, as he slowly moves to inspect the rock and then the window. His eyes moving to check the outside area before

eventually moving to address nie.

"Are you okay? You're not hurt are you?"

"No, I'm fine, I was over by Ares's desk when it happened. I was on the phone with Elise" I moved to explain, unsure how else to explain

1. it.

"Are you sure? Your shaking Athena" replies Alarick, his eyes trained on me as he spoke.

me.

Blinking, I hadn't realized that I was until he mentioned it. My hands shaking softly as I continued to hold the note within my hand or threat if you wanted to call it that. Alarick finally moved to approach me, his hand coming to rest gently against my shoulder to help ground "Athena dear, what's this?" asks Alarick, spotting the letter within my hand, his hand coming to take it from me carefully. Unable to reply I all but allowed him to take the letter from me.

Taking the letter, Alarick moves to read it, only to frown as he did. Clearly not okay with it as he moves to look at me and then at the letter again, anger slowly rising as what he reads. 'ARES! EROS! HOME! NOW!' orders Alarick, moving to contact his son, knowing that they needed to be told about this before it was too

late.

'What? Dad? Is everything okay?' asks Ares to his father, concern evident in his voice.

NO! Your mate needs you, NOW' growls Alarick.

'On our way home now dad, be there in 10' was all Eros said as he and Ares moved to make the 10 minute trip back to the house. Thoughts of their mate all but consuming them as they did. -Eros's POV-

The moment our father had all but told us to return back to the house we knew it had to be urgent. For very rarely did he ever lose his temper unless he was super angry and then, only then did he not hesitate to show it.

"What do you think has dad so on edge?" asks Ares, both of us making the 10 minute trip back home.

"Not sure, but he didn't sound happy that was for sure" I moved to tell him, knowing better than to question an Alpha. Especially one

from our father.

Rolling his eyes, we eventually make it back to the house, both of us rushing into the house before stopping inside the entryway.

"Dad?" calls Ares once inside the house.

"OFFICE!" shouts our father, Ares and I both moving to glance at each other before dashing for the office.

Approaching the office, we couldn't help but see that the door to the office was open, Ares and I both pausing just outside the door, our eyes scanning the room only to see a visibly shaken mate along with a broken window that looked like something had smashed it. "Athena" I called to her, entering the room with Ares as we did.

"F-Fine" stammers Athena, her voice soft yet distant, a sign that she clearly wasn't okay or fine as she put it.

"You're not fine I move to tell her, heading over in her direction before pulling her into my arms, my arms now trying to shield her from the world.

"You might want to see this" grunts father just as he moves to show Ares a note, a note I had yet to see as I was holding Athena within

my arms.

Growling beneath his breath, I carefully watch as Ares moves to read the note silently, anger all but surging off of him in waves the longer he reads the note.

"This ends now. That bitch dies once she's found, no mercy" was all we hear, Ares to upset by whatever it was that was written on the note.

Shifting his focus over to me, does Ares move to speak up. "Pack meeting, NOW"

Nodding, we move to summon the pack or at least those we needed to have present. The ones who would protect their Luna on a whims Our Beta, Gamma and Delta as well as her Uncles. Rick and Alex.

"If it's a fight she wants, then it's a fight she'll get" finishes Ares, a new found determination all but rising at the endless possibilities of ending Lily's life, for this time she had gone too far and for that there was no coming back from it, ever. Chapter Comments
