Our Journey Back To Love

Chapter 72

Chapter 72

tella opened the door and found Brian seated on the couch. He wore only a dressing robe over his lean

ilhouette.

What are you doing here?” Brian demanded. He figured she had gotten all dolled up to make up with him,

tella’s gaze fell on Brian’s leg braces. “You said we’d get divorced today.”

rian’s face turned grim. “Well, someone’s excited,” he remarked sarcastically.

tella stared at him and said nothing.

arking a humorless laugh, Brian called, “Mike!”

Mike opened the door and entered the room. “You called for me, Mr. Foley?”

Go to the walk–in closet and bring me a suit, Brian ordered

blivious to the fight between Stella and Brian, Mike scratched his head and asked, “Uh, sir, isn’t Mrs. oley usually the one who picks out your clothes?”

tella offered, “Shall I fetch you a suit?”

his was the last time she would offer to do something like this for Brian. However, he turned her down nd said, “No need. Mike, go and get my clothes.”

left without a choice, Mike trudged toward the walk in closet to retrieve a suit for Brian.

ow that it was just Stella and Brian in the room, an awkward silence brewed. Stella said nothing as Brian tared at her menacingly.

he fact that she had dressed up just to get a divorce spoke volumes. She was excited about being free om him in marriage, it seemed.

rian decided to be generous and give Stella what she wanted. He would like to see how long she could old out in society without his help.

while later, Mike came out of the walk–in closet with a black suit in hand. “Will this do, Mr. Foley?”

tella glanced at the suit, only to realize it was the suit she had bought Brian.

rian took one look at the suit and scowled. “No, it looks like a trainwreck. Bring me another set of

othes.”

e made it a point to insult the suit Stella had gotten him. She lowered her gaze and stayed quiet.  S~ᴇaʀᴄh the FindNøvᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

ike obediently returned to the closet and pulled out a dark suit this time. The fabric was so dark that it

eamed blue from some angles.

ian’s brows furrowed “Mike, you’ve been my assistant for years and you still don’t know my clothing

eferences?

“Sorry, Mr. Foley. I’m not trained in fashion, nor do I have an eye for style. I hardly notice what you’re wearing…” Mike answered carefully.

At the sight of this, Stella sighed and said, “I’ll go with you to pick out his outfit, Mike.”

“Why do you have to butt into this?” Brian growled, glaring at her.

“If you keep dawdling, it’ll be evening before we get anything settled,” Stella retorted as she brushed past

him and headed straight for the walk–in closet.

Brian was

fuming as he watched her leave. She seemed eager to divorce him,

When Stella entered the walk–in closet, she was going to reach for Brian’s usual clothes. However, for

some reason, she was drawn to a dark charcoal–grey suit

She had never seen Brian in grey before. Given that this was the last time she would be his wife, she

couldn’t help looking forward to seeing him sport the color.

As such, she took the suit off its hanger.

Noticing this, Mike pointed out, “Mrs. Foley, Mr. Foley prefers black.”

“It’ll do,” Stella said as she left the closet.

Brian looked up when he heard footsteps. A mocking gleam flashed in his eyes when he noticed the suit

she was holding: “Don’t you know I don’t like any color that isn’t black?”

Stella knew. She had been taking care of Brian for two years in the domestic setting, after all

She said plainly, “We’ve known each other for two years, yet I’ve never seen you in grey. Today’s the last. day we get to be husband and wife, so why not do something special?

Brian kept his frigid gaze on her and said nothing.

She prompted, “How about I help you put it on? Let me dress you one last time. Think of it as a civil goodbye between us.”

Brian was silent for a moment, then, “Mike, get out.”

Stella took this as her cue to approach Brian. She untied his dressing robe with familiar ease, and he

stood up.

His physique was honed to perfection, and while he was still using braces on his left leg, he was able to

walk

“Is your leg better?” Stella asked as she put on his shirt for him. It had been almost ten days since the

incident.

“Kind of,” Brian said, looking at Stella.

She did not look up and focused on buttoning his shirt. “If you don’t know how to take care of yourself.
