Our Journey Back To Love

Chapter 42

Chapter 42

Jessica’s eyes lingered on the exquisite gowns. “Did you design all these evening dresses?” she asked in

admiration.

“Yes,”

“They’re truly stunning, Jessica complimented sincerely.

Carrie chimed in, “Jessica, I remember you’re a skilled dancer. Why don’t you choose a flowing gown that will let you twirl gracefully with Brian at your birthday party? It would be spectacular.”

“That does sound lovely, Jessica said, pointing at a particular white evening dress. “Brian, what do you think of that white gown?”

Brian’s voice was smooth and warm as he glanced at the dress and said, “It’s quite lovely.”

“Then I’ll try it on,” Jessica said with a smile to Stella. Thanks for your assistance.”

Stella, having observed the interaction, quietly smiled and said, “It’s no trouble at all,”

She summoned an assistant and requested the white evening dress for Jessica to try on.

“Brian, I’ll try on the dress first. Wait for me here,” Jessica said softly.

Engrossed in his phone, Brian seemed to be working. With a faint nod, he muttered, “Okay.”

Jessica smiled as she walked toward Stella. Stella had removed the dress from the mannequin and placed it in the fitting room, Just as Stella was about to step out, she said, “Stella, come in and help me  Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the Find ɴøᴠel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

put it on.”

Stella paused for a moment and replied, “Okay.”

The two women entered the fitting room together.

As Jessica took off her clothes, her shapely figure came into view.

Stroking her still–flat stomach, she asked deliberately “Stella, do you think there’s a hint of a bump yet?”

Stella was busy adjusting the dress. When she heard the question, she glanced at her stomach, which was still flat and showed no signs of a bump.

“Not yet,” she replied softly.

“Yeah, it’s just my birthday this month. If it were next month, I wouldn’t be able to fit into this waist- cinching dress with my growing belly,” Jessica said with a face full of happiness. “Oh, Stella, that bag of yours. Did Brian really not want it and throw it away?”

Jessica had also secretly wanted that bag.

She was overjoyed when she saw Brian had ordered the bag, thinking it was for her. However, she never

expected it to end up in Stella’s hands.

“Well, he didn’t want it, so I took it from the trash,” Stella explained further to avoid any

misunderstandings. She now hoped that Brian and Jessica would get along well so that her father could

be released.

Jessica nodded with a hint of a smile on her lips, but it didn’t reach her eyes.

“All dressed up.” Stella said, helping Jessica put on her dress. Jessica glanced down and somehow bumped into Stella’s hand.

Stella winced in pain as her injured hand struck the soft stool beside her.

“Stella, what’s wrong? Did I bump into you by accident?” Jessica asked apologetically.

With slightly pale lips, Stella shook her head. “It’s nothing.”

It was just a bump, and the pain would subside soon enough.

Stella held up the hem of her skirt and accompanied Jessica out.

Brian glanced up to see Stella holding her skirt up like a servant.

Meanwhile, Jessica looked like a beautiful peacock, standing under the lights. She smiled at Brian and

asked, “Does this dress suit me?”

Brian sat on the sofa and replied calmly, “It looks great!”

“Really?” Jessica smiled gently and turned to look at her beautiful reflection in the mirror.

Carrie walked over, initially hoping to find a flaw in the dress. However, it looked so good on her that she

could barely find any imperfections.

She was speechless, so she complimented, “Jessica, you look good in anything!”
