tella picked up the phone in annoyance. “Mr. Foley, what’s up?” Her tone was hostile.

rian was startled. “Are you discharged from the hospital?”

My fever is gone. Of course, I should be discharged. Aren’t you asking the obvious?” Stella was in a huff.

rian rubbed his eyebrows helplessly. “Are you still angry?

What does it have to do with you? Just get to the point. Otherwise, please don’t disturb me.”

With who and where did you go? Brian enquired about her whereabouts

t’s none of your business.”

Shall I investigate it?” Brian continued grimly, “It’s no trouble. Ten minutes will do. But you’d better

onsider the consequences of angering me.”

nything to do with you?”

‘m your husband.”

peaking of this, Stella was infuriated. She especially flipped the calendar. “Not anymore in eight days. I ope we don’t see each other these eight days and stay in peace until the end of this relationship

Find out where she is.”

Joking surprised, Stella opened the door. “Mike, why are you here?”

Mr. Um, no. Yvonne heard you were sick and asked me to bring you some food.” Mike handed the

nchbox over.

ella was confused. “How do you know I live here?”

ike scratched his nose. “Yvonne is just worried about you, Mrs. Foley.”

ella was a little moved to hear this. “Tell Yvonne I’m fine. My fever is gone.”

“Okay.” Mike waved, reminding her, “Mrs. Foley, be sure to lock the doors and windows when you’re alone

at night.”

“I will. I’m not a three–year–old.” Stella took over the lunchbox before locking the door. Opening it, she saw

all her favorite dishes inside.

Mike returned to the first floor. Inside the Cullinan, Brian held a cigarette between his fingers, his

handsome face shrouded in the swirling smoke.

Hearing footsteps, Brian asked, “Have you given it to her?”

Mike walked up to him. “Yes, she has received it.”

Brian hummed. He glanced toward the third floor, where the lights were on.

Tell Yvonne to deliver meals to her every day. She has just recovered and needs to be careful of her diet,

“Yes,” Mike responded.
