Our Journey Back To Love

Chapter 154

Chapter 154

Bernard frowned in annoyance upon seeing Brian take away the pumpkin soup he had bought. “Brian, Stella likes to eat my pumpkin soup.”

Shooting him a cold look, Brian got up and said, “Come out with me.

Bernard glanced at Stella, who was talking to Mike. Stella asked, “Didn’t Cloud Diner close at ten in the

evening?”

“Mr. Foley gave them a call,” Mike answered.

With pursed lips, Bernard followed Brian out. In the corridor, six–foot–tall Brian towered over Bernard with

an overwhelming aura of a superior. “Don’t harass her again.

“How is that harassment? I’m her friend.”  sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ ꜰindNʘvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“I don’t mind you being friends with her. But don’t blame me for being rude if you have any other motives.”

Brian, who had always hidden his emotions, openly showed them for the first time. He was almost commanding Bernard not to approach Stella. Bernard was unhappy about it.

“You and Stella are divorced. There are only about ten days left in the cooling–off period. She will be single by then, and I’ll have the right to pursue her

“Your parents will be pissed off if they learn about this,” Brian threatened,

The Roach family had a strict upbringing. They would likely send Bernard abroad if they knew he was pursuing Brian’s wife.

Bernard’s eyes widened. “Are you threatening me? You won’t let others pursue her even though you don’t

want her yourself?”

“Who said I don’t want her?”

“You’re with Jessica. What else do you want now that she is already pregnant? Are you going to be two-

timing?”

Brian walked back to the ward, and Bernard was going to follow in. Brian slammed the door, snapping

Get lost!”

“Hey!” Bernard was nearly hit in the face. He yelled in a huff, “I sent her to the hospital!”

Turning into the ward, Brian instructed Mike to go out to keep an eye on Bernard.

“Yes.” Mike turned around and went out, blocking Bernard’s path with his hand. “Mr. Roach, how Mr. Foley gets along with Mrs. Foley is his business. Please don’t disturb them.”

Bernard showed a gloomy look. Inside the ward, not knowing what to say, Stella lowered her head and

ate the food. But in Brian’s strong presence, she could only ask, “How was Sharon’s surgery?”

“The surgery went well. She needs to stay in the ICU for a week.”

“That’s great. Stella felt relieved for Brian. “Then you will be looking after her in the hospital recently?”

“I can visit her in the ICU for an hour daily,” Brian replied.

Then, the two fell silent. Not wanting to face Brian, Stella lay down and pretended to go to bed. “I’m going

to sleep.”

“Okay.” Brian stepped forward to cover her with the blanket.

Stella was dazed for a moment. “Thanks. You can go now.”

With a hum, Brian walked over to switch off the light. He didn’t leave but sat on the couch opposite the hospital bed, watching her.

Stella turned her back to him, feeling a little restless. Why didn’t he leave? Was he going to stay with her there overnight? But they had nothing to do with each other anymore.

After lying in bed for a while, Stella still couldn’t fall asleep. “Why aren’t you leaving yet?” she asked.

“I’m a little tired. I’ll take a rest. Brian massaged his temples on the couch, looking tired. Stella said nothing more, turning to sleep.
