Our Journey Back To Love

Chapter 117

Chapter 117

After Chris hung up the phone, Stella felt a cold wave wash over her.

It was like she was seeing Chris‘ true colors for the first time, and her face fell.

So, the Yates family wasn’t her safe haven after all.

After a while, Stella got a call from Brian.

“Your uncle came to see me at the office.” Brian said, getting straight to the point.

Stella’s heart sank. Chris really went through with it.

She said flatly, “Don’t meet with him.”

“You didn’t give him the money?”

“No,” she replied firmly.

She had picked up on Chris‘ intentions during their earlier conversation. She wasn’t about to be fooled  Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ (F)indNƟvᴇl.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

into giving them money.

Brian’s expression softened slightly. “Alright, then I won’t see him.”

“Good,” Stella said. “You don’t have to deal with him anymore.”

She’d soon be out of Brian’s life, and she didn’t want Chris exploiting Brian’s name to make money, adding

to her debt.

After ending the call, Stella looked at herself in the mirror. She looked worn out.

When she was with Brian, it felt like the world was a bed of roses. Everyone treated her kindly, giving her a sense of a benevolent, worry–free world.

But since their divorce, she had begun to see the world’s darker side slowly emerge.

The serenity she once felt was all thanks to Brian shielding her from life’s harsh realities. Without him, the storms hit her head–on, chilling her to the core.

But perhaps this was a blessing in disguise. She couldn’t keep relying on Brian forever.

Living within the confines of someone else’s protection would only weaken her.

She yearned for independence.

At Foley Group, Brian didn’t meet up with Chris and had him sent away.

After resolving the matter, Mike returned to the office to report, “Mr. Foley, Chris has already left.”

Brian nodded, then suddenly asked him, “What kind of gifts do girls like?”

“Huh?” Mike was taken aback. “Mr. Foley, are you asking about Mrs. Foley?”

Brian’s expression remained unchanged. “She found out about Chris‘ true nature today, so she must be feeling upset.”

Therefore, he wanted to give her a gift.

Mike replied, “Mr. Foley, Mrs. Foley’s got an eye for fashion, so anything trendy would surely tickle her

fancy.”

Brian mulled it over for a moment. “Has that new bracelet I ordered arrived yet?”

Ever since Stella threw away Brian’s bracelet, he had been boiling with rage. But during a stroll at an

auction, he spotted a dazzling array of pink diamonds.

That was when Brian had mused, “If a bracelet costs a pretty penny, a woman wouldn’t dare chuck it.

right?”

“Absolutely,” Mike assured. “With jewelry worth hundreds of thousands, no one’s tossing that in the trash.”

Satisfied, Brian instructed Mike to snap up the entire batch of pink diamonds, destined to be fashioned.

into a one–of–a–kind bracelet.

*Just got the call from the jeweler yesterday,” Mike added. “That bracelet is all set.”

Even a rough–and–tumble guy like Mike knew that the pink sparklers were for Stella.
