Not Rejected Just Unwanted

JONATHON POV

"Did he tell you?" I asked her. "If so, he should have told you that he doesn't want her."

"Oh, I know," she said, letting out a small giggle. "I just need to know that she is gonna let him go."

I let out an irritated sigh, turning back to the car signaling Raine to come to me. She quickly got out and walked to me, I grabbed her hand and pulled her as close to my side as possible. "Believe me, Rose, you have nothing to worry about. Now leave." I motioned for Raine to go to her house. Rose let out a huff before leaving, followed by her little group. "What did she want?" Raine asked.

"You don't have to worry about it." I answered placing a soft kiss on her temple. "Now come on; let's go pack up your stuff."

She nodded, unlocking the door with a key hidden on the door frame. She opened her door, softly calling out to see if anyone was home. When no one responded, she went into the kitchen to see a note taped on the fridge. She let out a sigh telling me that her father was once again on patrols, meaning that it would be easy to move her stuff. She quickly wrote a note saying she's moving to the packhouse, and she'll be back for the rest of her stuff. I followed her to her room, it was a normal size, didn't have posters or anything on the walls. The only picture in the whole room was a picture of a woman and a little girl.

"That your mom?" I asked, helping her find some suitcases.

"Yeah. She would have liked you." she said, with a slight smile forming on her lips.

I could tell that her heat was still bothering her by the way she was clutching her chest and taking deep breaths. She was trying to work through the pain, but it wasn't long before another wave passed over her causing her to drop to the floor fighting back tears. I was by her side instantly, and I brought her close to my chest as the pain subsided. Once she was calmed down, I helped her stand and walked her to her bed.

"Sit here and I'll pack your essentials. Just rest, I'll be quick."

She nodded and pointed me to where everything was. After I had packed everything, I closed the suitcases and turned towards Raine. When I did, I felt my wolf try to take control: he wanted Raine. Raine being in the heat was making it very hard to stay in control.

"Jonathon? How can I make this stop?" she asked, evident in her voice. "Please, make it stop."

"Only mating fully with someone can stop it completely. But there is a way to stop it temporarily."

I knew she remembered the hospital but we didn't kiss for very long so it came back a lot sooner than either one of us would have liked.

"Someone has to kiss me again, don't they?"

I nodded, walking closer to her and squatting to be eye level with her. "But if you want it to go away longer then the kiss has to be longer as well."

"Oh," she said, blushing and looking down in an attempt to cover it up.

I chuckled before standing up and grabbing her bag. I held out a hand for her to take as we went back to the car. Thankfully she didn't live too far from the packhouse, how could I never realize that this amazingly sweet girl was here? After we pulled up and got out, I made sure Raine was by my side. "Stay close. There are a ton of unmated males and not all of them have as much control as I do." I warned before making our way through the house. I would like to say our adventure was uneventful, but I would be lying.

A few guys tried to hit on her but quickly realized that it was a no-go. This made us quicken our pace to my room. Once safely inside I locked the door so they couldn't get in. I looked at Raine only to see her doubled over in pain. I placed my wrist against her forehead feeling that her temperature had spiked again. Tears were once again streaming down her face. I thought for a moment before speaking.

"Raine... I'm gonna make the pain go away for a while, okay?" I said, tilting her head to face me.

I knew that Elijah was gonna feel this and his wolf was not gonna like it, but Raine needed something to stop the pain. I cupped her cheek as I gently connected our lips once more. She stiffened for a moment before relaxing into the kiss. I moved my hand to the back of her head, and she wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling us closer together. She hesitantly opened her mouth, deepening the kiss, and I let out a growl, happy with her actions. I could feel my control weakening the longer the kiss went on, but I couldn't pull away from her.

And in all honesty, I didn't want to stop.
