Not His Type Of Mate

Chapter 31

Alpha Leo's POV

"What did he say?" I asked mother, who was descending the stairs. "He threatened to leave if I kept bothering him," she whispered and took a seat.

With a heavy heart and a sense of guilt, I wandered around the living room, lost in thought. I knew what I said was wrong and foolish, but I couldn't explain the bitterness I felt toward seeing them together. I spoke rashly, and now I was full of regret. "You still haven't answered my questions," Ethan spoke up, causing me to release a frustrated sigh. "Were you jealous or-"

"Nothing," I interrupted, groaning. "It was nothing, and definitely not jealousy. Besides, what's there to be jealous of?" I scoffed, trying to brush off his questioning. "Everything," my wolf Ethan retorted, causing me to scoff again and turn away.

I turned my gaze in Emma's direction and asked, "Is the librarian coming today?" She shook her head and said, "I can send for her if you need her services." I declined and took a seat.

"What should we do?" my mother asked, sounding worried. But I couldn't answer. I was the cause of all of this and had to fix it myself.

"I'll be back," I told mother before leaving the sitting room. I climbed the stairs to the second floor, approached his room, and knocked on the door. "Hey, buddy, can we talk?" I pleaded, but he didn't respond.

"He won't let you in or listen to you, so give it up," Ethan grumbled. But I remained silent, thinking of a plan.

I reached the window and jumped into the room. Madison looked at me for a moment before standing up. Within a few hours, he had returned to his former grieving self, and I was surprised to see empty bottles littered around the room. It baffled me that he had drank all of them by himself.

"Are you here to remind me of how terrible I am?" he spat, his voice laced with pain and anger. I opened my mouth to speak, but he immediately cut me off. "There's no need for you to say anything," he hissed through clenched teeth. "You didn't do anything wrong. You were just reminding me of things I shouldn't be doing." I held his gaze, waiting for him to finish.

"I'll be leaving and returning to my country and kingdom after Aunt's birthday party. Now, please, leave, or I'll leave myself," he threatened, his tone, cold and demanding.
