Chapter 11
Chapter 11
Neville’s handsome face remained composed, showing no signs of being flustered. His voice had the steady confidence of someone used to calling the shots. “Loveille doesn’t have a solid foundation. Sure, it’s got a name for itself in a niche market, but it’s been treading water for the past three years. Honestly, it’s not really partnership material, Neville said.
Ryan chuckled. “You always wanted to poach Elianna, Loveille’s designer, for Fliwip. Why the change of heart now?”
“Elianna’s style is indeed refreshing, but a designer who hasn’t produced any works in the past three years is likely to be past their prime. She lacks any commercial value.”
Ryan half–jokingly remarked, “Or we could bring her in for other purposes. I heard that the mysterious Ms. Atkins is young and beautiful. Aren’t you getting a divorce soon? You might consider it.”
Neville’s eyes exuded a cold and ruthless aura as he said, “Ryan, Aidan’s birthday is around the corner. Do you want me to tell him about the shady things you’ve been up to?”
Ryan immediately begged for mercy. “Neville, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have imposed my dirty thoughts on you.”
“As for Elianna, you can deal with her however you want, but Loveille cannot be our partner,” Neville said firmly.
Ryan tossed Loveille’s bidding proposal into the trash, saying, “Actually, I had high hopes for Loveille. Now that it’s been eliminated, the only option left is the Conner Group.”
In the meeting room, it was just Madison and Alison. With no audience present, Alison no longer felt the need to maintain the facade of being a good person. She had an air of arrogance and disdain, saying, “Seems like I gave Loveille too much credit. I figured even without Elianna, they’d rope in some industry hotshot. Never guessed they’d pull you in.”
In Alison’s eyes, Madison was uneducated, Ross bringing her here was probably because he was infatuated with her.
Madison wasn’t bothered. She just smiled and touched her slender fingers, saying, “Miss Conner, are you trying to educate me on meddling in other people’s business?”
Alison sneered, “Oh, I almost forgot. Regina said that you cook well and your cleaning skills are excellent. It’s said to be even better than a maid. This could be considered an advantage. If you don’t mind, I can help you find a housekeeping company. I’m sure you can showcase your talents.
Madison knew that Alison wasn’t praising her. Instead, she was using a subtle way to mock Madison for being a free maid for three years.
Madison looked at Alison with a mocking smile. “At least he marries me. What about you, Miss Conner? You’ve been with him for so many years, but he doesn’t even want to marry you
Alison was hit where it hurt the most. Her heart ached, and she angrily said, “If it weren’t for you, Neville and I would have been together a long time ago.”
Madison sneered, “So, Miss Conner, it’s best for you to be smart. If you provoke me, I might cancel the divorce plan with Neville, leaving you being scolded for a homewrecker.
Alison was trembling with anger and snapped, “How did I not know you were so cunning and deceitful?”
Madison, once soft–spoken and subdued, had transformed into a woman who wasn’t just sharp–tongued but also pretty. savvy. She was hitting Alison where it hurt, leaving her hot under the collar.
Madison sneered, “I didn’t realize you were this thick–skinned. Here I am, still his legal wife, and you’re already trying to fill my shoes? Who gave you the confidence?”
Alison couldn’t find a reason to refute her, and her face turned red in embarrassment,
At this moment, Ryan’s assistant walked in, saying, “Congratulations, Miss Conner. The Conner Group has successfully won the bid and become Fliwip’s partner. Mr. Blanton invites you to discuss the collaboration plan.”
Chapter 11
Madison frowned. According to the process, representatives of all bidding companies would have a face–to–face meeting with the CEO of Fliwip to present their design concepts and analyze opportunities in the luxury goods market.
Skipping this process and directly announcing the result was undoubtedly unusual.
She immediately asked, “Is this Mr. Blanton’s decision or Fliwip’s CEO’s decision?”
Fliwip’s CEO was always mysterious, and no one had seen him. All matters were handled by Ryan.
But it was said that this mysterious CEO was highly capable, and all major decisions affecting the company’s fate were made by him.
Once he made a decision about the bidding, it meant there was no turning back.
Alison, upon hearing this news, was delighted. She put on a triumphant posture, and as she passed by Madison, she whispered, “Madison, let me give you some advice. Ryan and Neville are close. Why not go and beg Neville? He might consider helping you for the sake of your relationship.”
Alison was flaunting her understanding of Neville. After all, there were things even Madison, as the rightful wife, didn’t know, but Alison was well aware.
For the past three years, Madison had been by Neville’s side, yet he treated her like a caged bird, limiting her world to revolve solely around him and his family, Madison remained oblivious to his connections and the activities he engaged in, unaware of his relationship with Ryan.
Madison chuckled, not blaming Alison for looking down on her. Even when she looked back on those three years, Madison, felt like a joke.
Seeing that Madison didn’t refute, Alison showed a winner’s pride, strutting past her with swaying hips.
When she entered the director’s office, she heard the voices of Ryan and Neville.
“Neville, you just knocked Loveille out like that. I suspect you’re intentionally helping Alison,” Ryan said.
“Think whatever you want,” Neville said.
“Hey, are you and Alison rekindling the past romance, or are you in a secret relationship?” Ryan asked.
*Ryan, be a normal person. I don’t have time to listen to your nonsense, Neville said coldly.
As Neville walked out, he happened to collide with Alison.
She looked at him with a burning gaze, attributing Fliwip’s decision to Neville’s behind–the–scenes manipulation.
“Neville, do you have time tonight?” Alison asked.
Neville heard the implied meaning in her words and was about to refuse when a commotion interrupted them
Just then, Madison was being wrestled by security personnel. “I want to see your CEO!”
“Miss, you don’t have an appointment. We can’t let you in,” the personel said.
Behind the crowd, Madison spotted Neville standing in the light, with Alison beside him. The man was tall and stern, while the woman was graceful and gentle. They looked like a perfect match. Madison felt heartbroken.
Caught off guard, she was pushed by the security personnel and fell to the ground, looking somewhat disheveled.
Neville, surrounded by an aura of hostility, approached Madison and roughly yanked her to her feet. His gaze fell upon the slap mark on her cheek, intensifying his animosity even further.
Madison suddenly threw his hand off.
