Chapter 29
Chapter 29
Frank’s expression darkened because Maria ran into a pharmacy.
He wondered, “What does she need? She doesn’t look like she’s sick.‘
The next second, Frank guessed what Maria needed in a pharmacy.
As Frank expected, Maria soon left the pharmacy.
Her oversized jacket billowed madly as a gust of wind blew over her, making her look tiny.
Maria had to stop and let the wind pass. Soon, she went back in the car, carrying a pack of pills.
She sensed Frank was staring coldly at her, so she pursed her lips and explained in a low voice, “I’ve already had a birth control pill.”
She thought, ‘Although Basil wants a great–grandchild, I know Frank won’t let me bear his child.‘
Maria recalled that Frank asked her to take a birth control pill last time, so she went to the pharmacy to get some.
Maria did it for Frank’s sake, and Frank knew about it better than anyone.
However, Frank felt annoyed that Maria took the initiative to take a pill.
He thought, ‘I haven’t said anything, and she has already had a pill. It feels like she doesn’t want to have sex with me. What’s worse, she doesn’t want my child!”
Frank looked at Maria with his icy eyes. Then, he sneered and quipped coldly, “Thank you for being smart this time.”
After that, he retrieved his gaze from Maria and started the engine.
He stepped hard on the accelerator and drove his Maybach faster. The surrounding scenery retreated swiftly and blurred.
Though the street had sparse traffic and few traffic lights, Maria was unnerved by the speed. She could not shake the feeling that the car might take flight at any moment.
Maria’s heart beat faster when she saw Frank pass the cars without emotion. His Maybach effortlessly left every other car on the street in its wake.

Maria nervously started at the car in the front and noticed the distance was getting shorter and shorter. She could not help but remind Frank, “Slow down.”
Then, she sensed Frank’s displeasure.
Frank glanced at Maria and stepped on the accelerator without saying a word. When his Maybach was about to collide with the car in front, Frank suddenly steered left.
Maria screamed, “Ahh!” Then, she bumped into Frank’s shoulder due to inertia.
When Maria sat straight, Frank passed another car and left it far behind.
Maria was so scared that her face turned pale and her forehead was covered with cold
sweat.
She grabbed the handle tightly and had sweat on her palms.
She thought, ‘It was scary. Frank must do it on purpose. He wanted to scare me to death! I knew it. Frank won’t change. He changes his way of attacking me. I would rather be mocked by him than lose my life!‘
When she was thinking, the car gradually slowed down and stopped in a mall’s parking lot.
Frank turned to Maria and spotted her pale face. He suddenly felt good about it and ordered, “Get off the car.”
Maria would have felt uncomfortable if she received such an order before. However, after experiencing a near–death drag race, she was more than eager to exit the car.
Maria abandoned all her speeches and annoyance and quickly unbuckled the safety belt. After that, she said, “It’s close to the Greenwood family’s house. I can walk there by myself.”
Frank frowned and responded irritably, “Maria, I’ve already told you I’d visit your family with you. I always keep my word!”
Maria was shocked to hear that and looked up at Frank.
Frank disdainfully glanced at Maria and said, “Now go change your dirty clothes.”
