Chapter Gud Wife 346
Chapter 0346
'Do you know where she is?"
Marcus woke up after a long night. Though he had slept, he hadn't truly rested. His anxiety had
resurfaced after just one argument. He needed Valerie to feel at peace-he couldn't lose the woman of his life over a bout of jealousy. He was getting ready to go to Galea when his phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, his tired face changed drastically, becoming cold and serious.
"Maximus, what the hell do you want?"
"Serenity... Do you know where she is?"
"Maximus, wasn't I clear with you? Stay away from my daughter!"
"Bartz, she's my daughter too. She called me-she wanted to see me. I won't refuse her if she seeks me out. But that's not the issue, Bartz. I came to meet her, but I can't find her. Her car is open, the engine's running. Tell me she has bodyguards..." Maximus said, his voice full of concern.
"She does! Where are you? I'm heading there right now..." Marcus said, feeling a knot form in his throat. "I'm at the university, where she usually parks."
"Wait for me there. I'll have Frederick track her bodyguards"
"Frederick! Locate Serenity's bodyguards-my daughter is missing! I'm heading to the university," Marcus said, grabbing his coat to leave.
"Marcus, what's going on?"
Maximus just called. He can't find Serenity. She reached out to him and was supposed to meet him today, but her car's open and running, and she's nowhere to be found."
"Calm down, Marcus. I'll track her bodyguards now."
Frederick quickly tried to locate the bodyguards but had no success. According to their GPS, they were at the university, but Serenity's phone showed a location far from there.
"Marcus, I can't reach her bodyguards, but Serenity's phone is showing this location."
Marcus stormed out of Frederick's house in a fury. Whatever was happening, it couldn't be good. The location was far from the university, and he felt a growing sense of dread
Meanwhile, at Leonardo's house, the armed group pointed their weapons at the two men while escorting the girl out of the house. Serenity couldn't shake the thought that this had to be her father's doing. Who else could pull off something like this? She felt relieved, though her body trembled.
Once outside, Serenity was led toward a car she didn't recognize. A chill ran down her spine again- neither Frederick nor her father owned cars of this make. Marcus always considered such luxuries unnecessary. She was pulled out of her thoughts by the voice of the man who had rescued her. "All set, sir! Here's Miss Serenity, safe and sound. What do you want us to do with the men inside?" "How many are there?" Alden asked in a sharp, irritated tone.
"Two, sir. Leonardo and Lucius Palmer."
"Leave them. I won't be the one to deal with them. The important thing is that she's safe." "Understood!"
Chapter 0346
Serenity was trembling from head to toe. Alden took off his coat and draped it over her shoulders. With his long, slender fingers, he brushed her dark hair aside and gently tumed her face toward him.
"Hi... Are you okay?" Alden asked in à calm, almost sweet tone.
The girl's eyes locked onto the young man looking at her with tenderness,
"Yes... Who are you? You look like..." Serenity said, still frightened.
"Relax! You're safe now. Nothing bad will happen to you while you're with me," Alden said softly. Serenity stared at him, trying to place who he reminded her of, but in the midst of her distress, she couldn't figure
fr out.
atius, do we have a first-aid kit in the car?" Alden asked curiously,
"Yes, Alden! Let me grab it from the trunk, but first, we need to get out of here. I don't want anyone connecting you to this incident-not yet."
"You're right. By now, Marcus or Maximus must be frantically looking for her. Notify Maximus; let's kill two birds with one stone.
Serenity couldn't shake the feeling that something didn't add up. She wasn't sure what it was, but she was certain this man reminded her of someone.
A few kilometers down the road, Ignatius pulled over, stepped out, and retrieved a first-aid kit and a bottle of water from the trunk
"Miss, try to calm down. You're in good hands, don't worry."Ignatius said, noticing the girl's pale face. "Let me," Alden said, reaching for the kit.
He poured some alcohol onto a cotton pad and gently dabbed it on the corner of Serenity's mouth. She winced in discomfort, letting out a small gasp, and tried to pull away, but Alden used both hands to steady her face and carefully clean the wound.
