Chapter 30
With so many people in the elevator, the space felt crowded.
Cole stood beside Bradley, at a loss. There were times he wanted to tell his boss that he had actually done the paternity test,
but... the result was yet to be out. It would be futile even if he told him.
Moreover, Esther seemed to have become obsessed and overwhelmed by Tinkerbell’s death. If she did not see the sample
being taken personally, she would constantly suspect the authenticity of the test,
Rather than doing it again by then, they might as well let Esther watch the sample being taken. She and Bradley could face
reality together when the result was out.
The group came to the lab test department.
The nurse took samples of blood from Bradley, Esther, and Tinkerbell.
“The fastest the results will be out is 24 hours.”
Bradley threw the cotton swab with his blood into the medical waste bin and looked at Esther condescendingly. “Esther, I’ve done
the paternity test as you wished. Do not appear before me again.”
Esther gritted her teeth, asking hoarsely as she looked at Bradley’s cold and distant face, “And what if Tinkerbell’s tested to be
your daughter!?”
“I don’t know why you’d have a delusion like this, but...” Bradley noticed that his rage was too easily stirred up by Esther and
tried to tone himself down a little to talk to her more calmly. “It’s impossible that she’s mine.”
“And if she is?!” Esther questioned relentlessly.
Bradley’s icy gaze swept across Tinkerbell’s face, and he smirked. “I’ll give her a grand funeral then. Happy?”
“Get out! Get out!” roared Esther.
Bradley looked at Jasper and said, “Mr. Searle, she’s not doing very well mentally. Get her a psychiatrist.”
“It’s nobody but you who forced her to this state, Mr. Warner.”
Jasper carefully closed the coffin lid and held Esther’s hand to say softly, “Esther, let’s go to the funeral parlor.”
Esther glanced at Bradley hatefully and recalled his viciousness, iciness, and mercilessness. Like a lion, she sprinted to the man
from his back and chomped down on his shoulder with all her might.
Bradley did not move but let her bite him in venting her emotions. His feelings for her were too
complicated.
This woman was both his savior and his enemy.
Esther’s bite was deep as she loathed Bradley so much that she wanted to tear a piece of his flesh off him, so he felt the pain of
her losing her daughter too.
Blood trickled into her mouth, and she suddenly found it repulsive. Taking a step back, she spat the blood on Bradley’s back.
The man’s white shirt was instantly stained with a splatter of red. He suppressed his disgust and turned to look at Esther, who
was frenzied like she was possessed.
He locked his frosty eyes on her face and clenched her jaw with one hand. “Have you vented enough? Done being crazy?” ↑
Esther was still vengeful and lowered her head to bite on the flesh between Bradley’s thumb and forefinger.
The pad of Bradley’s thumb rubbed her lips, which were glistening with blood, as he told her fiercely, “Esther Quill, I felt the same
pain five years ago! It’s finally your turn now!”
