My Fiance Ran Away On Our Wedding Day

Chapter 103

Anika frowned.
Regardless of his parents, Kayden lived in a complete family and received the best education ever since he was a child.
In the eyes of his teachers and elders, he didn't even have any flaws.
Anika had envied this kind of life and had once treated him as a role model, but she no longer persisted because they were
different.
"Yes, we are indeed different.’ Kayden's eyes darkened slightly, and his bitter smile did not reach his eyes.
It was better for her to be decisive and left him.
After the last time they met, Kayden always wondered if she had ever loved him.
Just like when everyone thought she liked him in high school, he was still unsure.
But even if he wasn't sure, even now, he still didn't want to lose her just like that, even though it seemed to have become a
delusion.
He paused for a moment and said in a hoarse voice, "Anika, can we still be friends?"
Kayden did not expect her to accept him, but even if she did not deliberately avoid him, she would be cold, never seeing any
hope between them.
He was truly desperate.
"We better not.'' Anika withdrew her gaze and shook her head.
"Or rather, I don't want my husband to have any misunderstandings."
When she first returned to the Meyer family, she received a lot of criticism and tried her best to learn how to become someone
like Kayden, so that she could integrate into that unfamiliar circle and obtain the so-called recognition.
At that time, Kayden treated her well.
Anika was grateful, but she still couldn't completely trust him, much less calm her heart.

Regardless of how many mistakes she had made with Kayden, Anika knew that he hadn't really betrayed her.
However, he had many things he could not give up, and he needed to work hard to cater to them, so he was unable to resolve
the contradictions.
Anika wanted to have a family.
Kayden had known her for many years, and she had worked hard for him.
However, when she returned home to face everything, she realized how tiring it was to be with Kayden.
After she really pulled herself out, she felt exceptionally relaxed.
Zac made her understand that she could be more reckless, and she didn't need to pander to anyone to gain any so-called
approval.
"You don't have to always stress this to me."
Kayden's voice was hoarse as he clenched his fists.
Whenever she mentioned other men, he was at a loss.
His mind was constantly flashing with their current intimacy.
His heart felt as if it had been slashed by a knife, and his heart was drenched in blood from pain.
Anika frowned, "Kayden, I always feel that you have your own principles and don't want to ruin other people's relationship with us
being husband and wife” Kayden smiled, "Anika, you know very well why you two got married.A few months ago, you were even
worse than strangers who didn't have feelings for each other.Do you really think you love him?"
"No matter what the reason for getting married is, the result is more important than the process.’ Anika was not interested in
explaining anything to Kayden since she had already finished her sentence.
"But Anika, I can't let go.I love you."
Kayden's voice was filled with self-mockery, "Perhaps you can teach me how to let go of all this?"
He carefully looked at her, but he could only see her calm eyes.

When she spoke again, Anika said coldly, "Kayden, that's not my obligation. We don't owe each other anything.Don't let ourselves
be so miserable."
After flying for more than ten hours, she finally arrived in New York.
It was daytime when the plane boarded and daytime when it landed.
Although she was a little tired due to the jet lag, after arriving at the hotel, Anika still asked Jael about the situation.
"Director Miles said that the discussions with CF were going well.Technically speaking, Mr.Robert was very interested in NY's
enzyme digestion technology. However, NK-Bio offered a lower price.’’ Sara hesitated before looking at Anika’s expression.
NK had recently lost orders from several second-tier brands and naturally did not want to lose its cooperation with CF.
The other party had cooperated with CF for many years, and now, it was clear that they had an advantage by offering a lower
price.
Jael's discussion with CF was already halfway through.
If NY chose to lower the price, she would indeed have a better chance, but she would also be dragged into a price war with NK-
Bio.
"We won't lower the price."
Anika pondered for a while and then said, "Go tell Director Miles that there is no need to be burdened.Although it is good to be
able to obtain an order from CF this time, even if you can't get it this year, you can still wait for next year"
In terms of pressure, NK-Bio, who had just invested heavily in medical services, was definitely more pressured than them.
"How about CF’s new product launch event tomorrow?"
"Since we've accepted the invitation, we still have to go take a look.Just because we didn't do it privately doesn't mean that
others didn't do it." Anika smiled.
"If we can find out what they pulled off, it's not too late to find a way to get in touch with him”
"Get a good night's sleep and adjust to the jet lag first"

The next day, Anika and Sara were invited to participate in CF’s new product launch event at Hotel 101.
The representative sent by NK-Bio to discuss with CF this time was their Vice President of Research and Development Cortez.
This Mr.Cortez had an extraordinary status and was the son-in-law of the chairman of NK-Bio.
Anika knew that Jael had been unhappy with Harry when he was working for NK-Bio.
Since the other party could rely on nepotism to push Jael out of office, it could be seen that Jael had a lively mind.
On the CF side, it was Mr.Robert and the design director who had just parachuted in.
Since Mr.Robert was more or less interested in NY, Mr.Cortez cannot guarantee that they will not come into contact with one
another.
Sure enough, after the press conference ended, Anika and Sara came out of the show and saw that Mr.O'Conell pulled a young
man into the hotel room.
However, the man's back was somewhat familiar, but she could not remember where she had seen him before.
Because she was going to participate in the event, Anika was in high heels all day long.
After returning to the hotel, she changed her clothes and went into the bathroom to soak in a hot bath to relieve her fatigue.
After coming out, just as she took off the mask on her face, she received a phone call.
"Darling, I have an appointment with a good person for you.Tomorrow night, at the restaurant we used to go to."
In the microphone, there was a Caucasian female voice with some accents.
Anika smiled and said, "Camille, thank you."
"Stop, you're always so polite. How many meals have I eaten with you in the past few years? Do you still need to thank me for a
small favor?"
Camille's father was European and her mother is Egyptian, but she grew up in the United States.
She was Anika's roommate when she was studying abroad, and she was also considered to be her best classmate.

After arriving in the United States, Anika left the oppressive environment and made quite a few friends.
Hearing the other party's words, Anika helplessly replied, "Alright, if you need my help in the future, remember to let me know”
"Don't worry, I won't hesitate."
After the other party finished speaking, she asked, "Oh right, did you get married to Brian on your trip back home?"
Anika paused for a moment.
"I am indeed married, but not with him."
"Wow, ok, I understand.’’ She said teasingly, "But I wish you a happy marriage."
Growing up in the United States, Camille was very diligent in changing boyfriends, as if she wasn't surprised that Anika would
marry someone so soon.
Anika knew that her blessing was sincere.
She smiled and replied, "Thank you."
After hanging up the phone, she dried her hair and opened Viber, only to find that Zac had not contacted her all day.
In the Viber dialog box, they were still stuck in the messages sent by the two of them yesterday.
[I bumped into Kayden in the lounge before boarding the plane.]
[Yes, I see.Let me know when you come back.]
He didn't say anything else.
The calmer the man’s attitude is, the more Anika felt that something was wrong.
However, the two of them were always busy with their work when they traveled for business.
She was afraid of disturbing him and was still suffering from jet lag.
Although she missed him and secretly complained about his behavior of not sending messages all day, Anika still did not
complain over the phone.

After saying goodnight, she laid down on the bed.
