Chapter 11
Chapter 11
Charlotte frowned at his audacity. “You really have no shame!”
“I haven’t done anything wrong, yet you want answers. I believe that’s fair,” Zachary calmly said.
“What conditions?” Charlotte was annoyed, so she just wanted to get rid of him.
Challenging her rising temper, he laid out his condition. “You need to end your relationship with Gordon and move back to Superb Estates.”
Charlotte was taken aback. She and Zachary had once called Superb Estates home after their wedding, but that title now seemed ridiculous.
With a dry chuckle, she met Zachary’s icy gaze but didn’t directly respond to his demand. Instead,
earlier?” she posed a question of her own. “What did Annie say to you
Annie had just left the room, and shortly after, Charlotte had arrived.
Before Zachary got a chance to answer, she continued her line of thought, “You’re engaged, yet you want me to play house with you. What’s next? Do you want me to be the ‘other woman‘?” Charlotte laughed at him sarcastically, her charm with a dash of mockery.
Zachary’s betrothal to Annie was recent news; everyone in Liene City was still buzzing about it.
Zachary’s expression had turned grim, the same expression he had when Annie was in dire need of surgical help three years before. Catching his sullen mood, Charlotte continued with a smile, “Or perhaps, you want me back home to birth your child, so then you could draw my blood for-”
“Enough!” she was interrupted before she could conclude. Zachary’s eyes were ablaze. Whether it was out of anger or something more complicated, she could not tell.
This shift dimmed her smile, and she stood up with a frosty look. “What? Can’t believe the monster you used to be?”
Of all the people she encountered in her life, no one could hold a candle to the horror that was Zachary. Being married, she and Zachary should have stood side by side, yet it was him, her husband, who wanted to kill their unborn, drained her blood, and nearly drove her to her grave. The memory of his sadistic behavior back then still left her gasping for breath.
“If you won’t cooperate, then I’ll have no choice but to involve the police.” With finality in her voice, Charlotte turned to leave. She was determined to see if Zachary would dare confront the sins of his
past.
Turning her back to him, she added chillingly, “Mr. Sullivan, you seem to have forgotten to sign the divorce
papers. I’ll
get a new agreement for you. If you sign, we can part ways quietly. However, if
you don’t…”

She let the threat hang, her back looking as cold and unyielding as her words in Zachary’s view.
Taking a deep breath, she threw her final remark over her shoulder, “Then I’ll have to spill the beans about what happened three years ago. I suspect the people of Liene City will find the car. accident far more interesting than who Gordon really is.”
With deliberate emphasis, she slammed the door shut behind her, leaving an intimidating echo.
Zachary fumed in anger. The car accident three years ago had triggered a public frenzy. Suspicions had swirled, largely due to Annie’s presence with Zachary. The ripple effects from Charlotte’s revelation would surely push the reputation of the Sullivan family into troubled waters. Moreover, Annie, who just recently engaged Zachary, would be caught in the crossfire of public condemnation.
Zachary visibly tensed, his fists clenched tightly, presenting a stern figure.
Outside Supreme International Group, Charlotte was met with Annie, her Mercedes–Benz casting a formidable silhouette. The figure of an innocent victim had been replaced with simmering
resentment.
Charlotte casually strolled past her towards her own car. As she was about to open the door, Annie’s frosty voice stopped her. “Have you really decided to forget our past friendship and become my enemy?”
