My ex-husband is seeking a second chance

Chapter 60

Chapter 60

The night passed quietly.

When Tina woke up, her hand still throbbed with pain. She frowned and cursed Pearl again

When Tina lazily went downstairs, Pearl and Lindsay were already having breakfast in the dining room. They were chatting and laughing together. appearing exceptionally harmonious and friendly.

Tina opened her eyes and was left bewildered. What was going on?

It had only been a night, but Lindsay seemed to have won Pearl’s trust, What had she missed?

“Good morning, Pearl”

Tina raised her voice and greeted Pearl, trying to make her presence known.

Pearl glanced at Tina indifferently. Lindsay sat opposite Pearl and politely greeted Tim “Good morning, Tina”

“Good morning to you too. Tina said while smiling broadly. She took a seat next to Lindsay. She observed their expressions and asked teasingly. “What are you talking about that’s making you so happy!”

Pearl continued eating her breakfast without speaking-

Lindsay looked up at Pearl and said, “We were reminiscing about our childhood. We were talking about the year when Pearl took us to the neighbor’s garden to pick flowers. We almost got bitten by a dog there. But luckily, we ran fast”

Hahaha.. I remember that!”

Tina burst into exaggerated laughter, but Pearl and Lindsay looked at her. Their disdainful looks made her abruptly stop and fall silent

The previously harmonious atmosphere suddenly turned awkward

Tina lowered her head to sip her coffee, silently thinking to herself, “Bringing Lindsay here was indeed the right decision. This girl is sharp. By mentioning more about our childhood, she can gradually awaken the humanity within Pearl and slowly numb her nerves.”

Seeing Tina fall silent, Pearl and Lindsay continued their conversation. “You’re about to graduate. Have you found an internship position?” Pearl

asked.

Lindsay replied, “Not yet I was actually planning to look for one when I received a call from Tina. It’s been so long since I last saw you, so I dropped everything and came here.”

Tina couldn’t help but smirk inwardly, thinking, What a master of flattery. She talks as if it’s all true, making it sound so believable. She’s even benter at pretending than I am”

Pearl seemed to buy into it. She gave a nonchalant “Hmm” and said casually, “In that case, I’ll arrange an internship for you at Woolery Jewelry. Since you’re studying jewelry designs, it’s a perfect match for your major.“

Lindsay bit her lip, looking a bit timid. “Is that okay?”

“There’s no problem at all.” Pearl replied.

Pearl finished her breakfast and wiped her mouth with a handkerchief. She spoke leisurely, “I’ve seen your design sketches. You have creativity, ideas, and natural talent. You’re still young, and with more experience, you’ll get even better.”

“Absolutely!” Lindsay nodded vigorously. “I’m willing to work there, even for free.

Pearl smiled indulgently. “Silly child, you work to earn money. The internship salary at Woolery Group is not low, Don’t worry. Just focus on learning

“Okay, thank

you, Pearl Lindsay was thrilled. She had studied jewelry design with the hope of working at Woolery Jewelry one day. She wanted to create her own designs and assist Pearl.

–Tina, who had been listening, wat envious. She quickly said, “Pearl, I also want to work at Woolery Group?”

She had wanted this for a long time, but her father had always forbidden her, saying, “You’re a girl. Just stay at home and focus on finding a good husband. Your biggest task is to secure Manfred Working will be 100 hard for you”

Tiia wanted to marry Manfred, but having a job wouldn’t interfere with her plass. Her father kept saying work was too tiring, but she had never seen him or Errol work very hard. They spent most of their time partying and having fun. She didn’t think it was all that hard.

“Tl check if the cleaning department needs someone to tidy up the place, and Il arrange for you to work there,” Pearl replied casually.

Lindsay nearly burs

tout laughing but quickly lowered her head and continued eating her breakfast.

Tira’s face turned unpleasant. “I don’t want to work in the cleaning department I also want to work at Woolery Jewelry!”

o there? Can you design? Do you have any design work to show!

“What can you do

Pearl fired three consecutive questions, leaving Tina speechless. She bit her lip and began to bite back at Lindsay. “But Lindsay doesn’t have any design work either. She’s still a university student. At least I have an extra year of social experience!”

Pearl retorted, “Is that year of social experience referring to dating, shopping, and attending parties and banquets?”

Pearl gave Tina a cold look. “Lindsay hasn’t graduated yet, but during her time in university, she worked part–time and interned at companies. She even participated in a national jewelry design competition and won first place.”

Tina stared in astonishment at Pearl, while Lindsay also looked up in surprise. “Pearl, how did you know?”

Pearl said, “There’s everything on the internet. We can know anything from it.”

many design

Tina bit her lip, unwilling to back down. “If I can’t work at Woolery Jewelry, then arrange for me to work at Woolery Starry Media. I may not know much, but I’m pretty and know several celebrities.”

Pearl replied. “You mean those small internet celebrities under Starfield Media, the ones called Mia and the others? They’ve already left the industry because they offended someone. The entertainment industry is too complicated, and with your lack of intelligence, you won’t survive there.”

“What? They’ve left the industry!”

Tina was shocked bus didn’t catch Pearl’s criticism. She asked in surprise, “Who did Mia offend!”

“Me Pearl replied calmly.

Tina fell

1 salent.

After breakfast, Pearl and Lindsay got ready to l

to leave. They paid no attention to Tina, who was frozen in her seat with her unfinished breakfast.

As they were about to get into the car, Kurt Marshall, responsible for Rose Garden’s security, approached Pearl. He whispered. “Miss Pearl, there’s been a car parked on the opposite side of the street outside Rose Garden overnight, and it’s not the first time”

Pearl furrowed her brows slightly and glanced outside, confirming the presence of a black car.

Kurt continued, “The license plate is registered in Machodean. Do you recognize it?”

Pearl sook the surveillance video handed to her by Burt. The video showed a 360–degree view of the car parked outside. It was a black Rolls–Royce, and the license plate was all too familiar to her. It couldn’t be anyone other than Marc.

Didn’t he leave! Why did he come back!

While she was pondering this, her phone rang. It was Lucas on the line

Pearl answered the call, and Lucas greeted her on the other end, saying, “Good morning, dear.”

He mentioned that he had discussed the horse ranch’s matters with William. William had agreed to Pearl’s proposed strategy for making the horse ranch more accessible to the public. However, there was one condition. They wanted the Males Group to be involved in the collaboration, making it a three–way partnership.

“Mare has already agreed, so it all depends on you now. As long as you agree, we can immediately proceed with our strategic plan!” Lucas said.

Pearl’s eyes narrowed, and she clenched her teeth silently, “Lucas, you’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?”–

“It’s business. Don’t be angry.”

Lucas reassured her. “My father did indeed agree to it. He was initially against it insisting on keeping the aristocratic theme. It was Marc who gave him a call. They talked for quite a while. I don’t know how Mare managed to persuade my stubborn old man, but he’s on board now. I never mentioned your strategy to him, but Marc’s idea surprisingly aligns perfectly with yours. Have you discussed this matter with him before?”

What? Marc barely talked to her before.

Pearl had a cold expression. Marr had never really paid attention to her, so how could he have discussed these matters with her?

“Take some time to consider it. If the Males Group joins in, it will be beneficial without hann. You’re a smart person, and you’ll see the pros and cons Lucas said.

Pral scoffed. “Don’t try to flatter me. You and Mare are birds of a feather, conspiring against me.”

I wouldn’t dare. At most, I’m an accomplice. If you have any complaints, take them up with Marc.”

Lucas chuckled and said, “How is it? Did he go?”

Pearl replied with irritation. What do you think!”

Lucas laughed “I have one more thing to confess, Yesterday, I accidentally spilled the beans, and he already knows that you’re a top–notch hacker and a skilled chef You don’t have to pretend to be ignorant anymore.”

Pearl was left speechless for a moment after hearing Lucas’s words,

Pearl anger intensified, and she exuded a menacing aura: “Lucas, are you tired of living?

“No, no. It’s just that knowing your history with him got me a little excited. Why didn’t you tell me earlier that you were the girl kidnapped ten

year ago?

Lucas continued teasing her, saying, “I was also involved in that mission in Greenwood ten years ago. If Marc saved your life, I should at least get partial credit. Instead of secretly loving him, you could have secretly loved me…

Pearls pupils suddenly constricted, and she turned to look at the black car parked outside,

So Mare already knew!
