Chapter 2: Pressing on Her
The two of them were just walking toward the car park when a familiar voice suddenly came from behind them, “Why are you in such a hurry to leave, Mr. Rogers?”
Stacey’s body froze at the sound. She turned around just in time to see Hogan’s figure walk toward them with lazy strides before coming to a stop in front of them.
“Mr. Rogers, it’s been a while since we last saw each other.”
“This is as good a day as any, don’t you think?” The two men shook hands, their gazes locking as they did. There was a burning rage in Hogan’s eyes. He was furious that Stacey had returned to the country and hadn’t met him, instead choosing to spend time with this man.
The two men let go of each other’s hands, and Hogan’s eyes moved to Stacey’s body, his eyes flashing with a chill that made her heart palpitate. He smirked and said slowly, “Long time no see.”
Stacey’s face suddenly showed a trace of astonishment. She reluctantly shook hands with him and replied in a calm tone, “Long time no see.”
As the words came out, she muttered in her mind, “Persistent
as ever.”
Hogan’s grip suddenly tightened, causing Stacey to wince slightly.
He withdrew his hand and smiled meaningfully. “Stacey, let’s
After asking Matthew to leave first, Stacey and Hogan were left standing alone at the entrance of the club.
Three years. It had been three years since he last saw this woman. The once tranquil and timid Stacey was now gone, her meekness replaced by arrogance and allure.
The old Stacey was like a meek kitten before him. She was an obedient little lamb that always did whatever he asked of her. Now, however, she did not even bother to look at him.
“Stacey, are you avoiding me?” Hogan lazily stuck his hands into his pockets. However, the dim light shining on his face revealed a barely concealed anger.
Did he really think she was the same old little girl from back then? Someone who would obey him no matter how far he pushed?
Stacey sneered and spoke, “Hogan, don’t you think too highly of yourself?”
Looking at the jacket Stacey was wearing, his heart grew even angrier.
Hogan grabbed her arm and took a step closer to her.
Startled, Stacey quickly backed up but ended up hitting the car behind her.
Hogan’s eyes reflected the neon street lights, and under the lighting, he looked like a hunter eyeing his prey. “Matthew is your man?”
A twinge of damned jealousy ran through Hogan’s mind as he

thought of the scene where Matthew had put his jacket on her.
“None of your business.” Stacey’s hands rested against Hogan’s chest, and although her tone was flat, her heart was already racing.
Hogan’s body pressed against hers, and his strength made it difficult for Stacey to breathe. She kept tilting her head back, hoping to maintain some distance from him.
“Stacey, you’ve come a long way in the past few years.” Hogan sneered, more or less mocking Stacey with that smile.
Hogan ripped off the jacket Stacey was wearing and glared at her angrily. “Tell me, if you’re back in LA, why haven’t you been home?”
“By home, do you mean the old Barnes family home?”
Hogan, who had never thought of her as a member of the Barnes family, was asking her why she hadn’t gone “home.”
It sounded rather ridiculous to her.
“Stacey, you’ve wandered around for so long that you don’t even recognize your own mother?” Hogan’s brow was furrowed. His eyes were full of ice, and his whole body exuded a lurid eeriness.
“I was planning to go home to see my mother and William. I don’t need you to remind me.”
Stacey was pinned against him, her back pressed against the cold car.
Hogan restrained her hands, and his dark eyes fell on her

delicate little face. They say that women change, and Stacey had changed tremendously in the three years she had been
away.
This Stacey was no longer the little girl who was at the mercy of others back then.
Hogan’s eyes were on her face, and looking at her evasive eyes, his heart grew more and more upset. “Now you’re willing to come back?”
Hogan said, wrapping an arm around Stacey’s waist.
“Since when do you hang out with that Matthew guy? You don’t know about our family’s relationship with the Rogers family?”
Stacey couldn’t help but wince. “Mr. Barnes, please put
yourself in your place,” she retorted. “What I get up to is none of your business.”
“You’re getting tough, aren’t you? How dare you talk to me like that?”
Stacey looked away and clenched her teeth, deciding to simply ignore him. Before she could react, he suddenly lowered his head and kissed her lips. Stacey’s pupils widened, and she restlessly tried to break free, but her hands were firmly held by him.
He sucked her lips dominantly with a sense of longing and deep punishment.
