Chapter More 30

Chapter 30: Exposure

The employees in the technical department held their breaths.

They seemed afraid that even the slightest sound of their breathing would disturb Owen on the screen.

Of course, there was something even more terrifying.

Currently, every computer in the company and the large screens in the lobby were broadcasting this live surveillance footage.

It was Friday, and many people had some free time.

The group chat was flooded with messages.

The video of Owen attacking the company’s firewall went through the

company.

In less than a minute, everyone in the Cooper Group, including the janitors who usually didn’t use their phones, knew that there was a traitor in the technical department.

Owen’s name spread throughout the company.

Everyone initially thought it was just a drill of the technical department, and they eventually concluded that Owen, after being fired, held a grudge and intended to sabotage the company.

“Owen seems to be still in our company!”

The news quickly spread through every corner of the company.

But it had only been two or three minutes since the incident had started.

The people in the technical department also noticed it.

“It seems like Mr. Pope hasn’t left the company, but I’ve never seen this office.”

“Didn’t you notice how luxurious it is? Only the leaders can have such. a luxurious office.”

Sandra pressed the intercom button.

“This is the technical department. Please send security personnel to the president’s office on the top floor. Someone is attempting to steal company information using internal computers.

The technical department fell silent once again.

Stacy mumbled, “Maybe Mr. Pope just wanted to test the firewall.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Owen smirked on the screen.

“I have full access now. I will copy all the confidential files.”

Stacy felt embarrassed.

She didn’t expect this to happen.

Sandra retorted, “Are your drills usually this realistic?”

Stacy was speechless.

Even during drills, they wouldn’t be given full access.

The company didn’t allow it, and they wouldn’t do anything suspicious.

So, Owen’s actions clearly exceeded the scope of a drill.

Other departments might not understand, but they could all understand the code scrolling on the computer screen.

Now Owen was truly going all out to attack the company.

Sandra suddenly started typing on her keyboard and broadcasted the

company’s surveillance footage.

The security personnel in the footage happened to be near the president’s office on the top floor.

As they were about to knock on Debra’s door, she spoke up.

“It’s the room next door.”

The security personnel didn’t knock

went to the adjacent room

and broke down the door.

Owen was stunned as he looked toward the door.

“What are you doing…

He was subdued by the security guards.

At almost the same time, the cyber police arrived.

They didn’t need permission from the executives and immediately took Owen away.

Meanwhile, Sandra arranged the screen on his computer.

The confidential files were still in the process of being downloaded.

60% of the files had already been downloaded.

The police took photos and collected evidence.

Everyone thought the ordeal was over when Sandra sent a mass email through the company’s internal network.

The email read…

[Why was Owen near the president’s office? Mrs. Debra Cooper, please explain.]

Debra was in deep trouble.

No one dared to discuss it in the group chat, but they talked about it privately.

In the restroom of the president’s office.

Debra stared at the email with a gloomy face.

Luckily, she had left the office and went to her own restroom because she felt unwell.

Otherwise, she would have been seen ‘ the security personnel!

The board of directors would definitely hold her accountable, and she might even get fired!

Sandra!

What a sinister move!

She had underestimated Sandra earlier!

But it was her fault. She should have known that if Sandra only brought good luck, she wouldn’t have woken Victor and Wesley up!

Sandra still had many secrets that she didn’t know about!

Ring, ring…

Her phone rang.

It was Jack Hale, the company’s second–largest shareholder.

Jack was Terrence’s friend, and Debra had to show respect to him.

So, she couldn’t ignore his call.

“Mr. Hale.”

“Debra, you’re really something!” Jack sounded furious.

Debra felt like she could be torn apart if she were standing in front of Jack right now.

She could only force a smile, “Mr. Hale, please don’t be angry.”

“How can I not be angry?”

Jack roared, “How dare you allow someone to steal company secrets? Debra, you said you were helping Victor manage the

company, but Lthink you’re trying to take it for your own!”

Debra quickly explained, “You misunderstood. I will issue a statement on the company’s internal network right now.

Jack snorted, “It has attracted the att .on of the media. You better control the situation. If it starts trending, no one can save you!

Debra broke out in a cold sweat.

It had attracted the attention of the media? It would be troublesome.

She suspected that Wesley must have magnified it.

His goal was to bring her down.

But she couldn’t let them have their way.

“Mr. Hale, please rest assured. I will handle it properly.”

She hung up the phone, a trace of coldness flashing in her eyes.

In the technical department.

Sandra hadn’t expected the situation to escalate so quickly.

She believed that someone was helping her.

She took out her phone and sent a message to Wesley.

She sent a smiling emoji.

But the message was rejected.

They were not friends online yet.

Sandra was speechless.

She deleted Wesley’s contact information and put her phone away.

Stacy approached Sandra but felt that her aura had suddenly become cold and intense. She hesitated and stopped in her tracks.

Sandra had regained her composure and casually asked.

“Do you need something?”

“Now that Mr. Pope is gone, are you in charge of approving the documents for our department?” Stacy a

Sandra didn’t want to take on the task and refused, “No.”

“Then…

“I think you’re right for the job.”

Sandra sat back down and opened the company’s internal network. Debra had already made an announcement.
